We did it! Sit back and enjoy this talented young lady's uplifting tune about looking forward to tomorrow.
Happy Inauguration Day in advance, everyone!
[In honor of the Inauguration tomorrow] Andrea McArdle sings "Tomorrow" from Annie (video, 1981)
One of the most hideous songs of all time—especially when, as inevitably, sung by a shrieky little girl.
Her voice in the Broadway version for such a young girl at the time was phenomenal.
The play itself was meant to be a paean to FDR, and an attack on Nixon. This would have disgusted conservative creator of “Little Orphan Annie” Harold Grey.
When John Ford directed the movie version, he definitely changed the story to soften the pro-FDR feel of the story.
I meant to say John Huston, not John Ford.
Should probably add “One More Day” from Les Miserables to the list!
Just checked the Rolling Stone 10 worst songs of the 90s ..and I actually like all 10!
Can’t believe it was 44 years ago! I still have those tunes in my head at age 84. Life goes by too fast if having fun I guess.
The temperatures drop...tomorrow...
lol
