Find out more about the highlights from Jeff Beck's guitar collection with Head of Sale, Amelia Walker, and musical instrument specialist, Kerry Keane as they tour the exhibition at Christie's in London. The exhibition is open now until 22 January and is free to all.
A celebration of the ultimate guitarist’s guitar hero, Christie’s is honoured to present Jeff Beck: The Guitar Collection, a live auction on 22 January 2025, in London. Spanning his almost six-decades-long career, from joining the Yardbirds in 1965 to his last tour in 2022, this unique auction presents over 130 guitars, amps, pedals, cases and ‘tools-of-the-trade’ used by the late, great guitar legend Jeff Beck (1944–2023).
A multi-Grammy award-winning artist – twice inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame – his inimitable sound led to collaborations with countless internationally renowned musicians and friends including: Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Ronnie Wood, Rod Stewart, Stevie Wonder, Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Billy Gibbons, Jan Hammer, Eric Clapton, David Gilmour, Tina Turner, Nile Rodgers, Mick Jagger, BB King, Buddy Guy, Carlos Santana, Imelda May and Johnny Depp, amongst many others.
From the outset, Jeff Beck was a sonic innovator; a maverick and mercurial virtuoso who blazed the trail for musical genres as diverse as Psychedelia, Heavy Metal and Jazz-Rock Fusion, and who embraced a wide range of influences from the Blues, Rockabilly and Rock ‘n’ Roll to Indian sitar music, Bulgarian Folk, Techno, and Opera. A maestro of his trade, Jeff could make just about any sound possible with a guitar and an amp. His playing style could not be defined and part of his magic lay in the balance between the fluidity and aggression of his playing and his technical brilliance, which could swing from furious attack one moment to sheer ethereal beauty in the next.
The Live Auction takes place on 22 January 2025.

started with Wired & Blow by Blow, then the older and newer stuff. The trio of releases circa 2000 were also outstanding
I saw him just the one time, uh, 26? years ago, kicked my ass. He did nothing but play guitar and work on cars, apparently, so his strings were always oily. :^)
Wired changed my whole attitude on rock music. I was a metal rock guy. Wired showed me what jazz rock could be. Beck was the master. He was always pushing the boundaries and taking us along with him.
I meant to say Blow by Blow not wired.
Bkmk
Thanks
Highly recommend DVD Jeff Beck Live at Ronnie Scott’s. 2007. No Freeway Jam but most of his other hits. Tal Wilkenfeld, a very pretty Aussie, is his Bass player and worth the price of admission so to speak. I think she was all of 21 years old at the time.
He was a b8g flathead FORD fan and had some really cool cars
Truly one of the greats. No one else like him. His no pick style gave something special and unique, which is why he is in my top 5.
That was a great show, Robert Plant and Jimmy Page were in the audience. He warmed up with a rockabilly set.
From the photos I’m wondering where his signature white strats are. I have an exact copy of the 58 Tele he used in the Yardbirds and then gave to Page.
I saw him perform back in the 80s at Comiskey Park.
Aerosmith was there and were awful. Tyler and Perry were wasted and cut their show short when a fire broke out in the stands.
Once the fire was out Beck came out and absolutely owned the place.
Amazing performance.

I’ve been hearing about this.
I’ve seen it and I agree.
👍
I’d like to strap on the one he used for the acoustic part of “Love Is Green” but I wouldn’t wanna try and play it.
