Symptoms appear abruptly and include severe headaches, fever, diarrhoea, stomach pain and vomiting. They become increasingly severe.
In the early stages of Marburg haemorrhagic fever, it is very difficult to distinguish from other tropical illnesses, such as Ebola and malaria.
Infected patients become 'ghost-like', often developing deep-set eyes and expressionless faces.
The WHO says it has a case-fatality ratio (CFR) of up to 88 per cent, meaning it can kill nearly nine in ten people it infects.

Marburg has been around a long time, last time I was in the DRC it was an issue along with Ebola too. Periodically outbreaks come out of the jungles in that area. People there catch and eat “bushmeat” various species of primates , it’s effectively cannibalism since we are less than 4% DNA from all of those primates. WHO usually does a decent job of containing the spread to local villages. The fear rightly so is it gets to a big city like Lagos and gets a foothold before jumping on international air travel. No place on earth is more than 48 hours away by international flight and puddle jumper. I habe made it from DFW to the remote airstrip in the DRC in under 36 hours before...You haven’t seen Africa till you have “landed” on a dirt patch in BFE while having your fillings rattled out by the Soviet era Antonov taking you there. I saw landed it was flown into the ground, no flare no pitch up just down and bump bump then screeching brakes and dust everywhere from the props. Ramp down get you kit out quickly the Unimogs will take you to the mine site before the rebels get here having hear the engines.
LOL! Thanks
Just like last night's Farewell Speech!
A vacation in Tanzania is now off my bucket list. /s
What I learned from reading the “Hot Zone” made me disbelieve the whole Wuhan Scamdemic.
Lol! I remember this from decades ago. Miss these old guys. My dad did business with Bob Hope and his secretary was probably funnier than he was. 🤪
