'The Last Showgirl' star discussed her decision to ditch cosmetics while appearing on 'Live with Kelly and Mark'
Anderson first started going makeup-free after her long-term makeup artist died of cancer in 2019, but first made headlines for the decision about four years later, when she showed up for Paris Fashion Week in the fall of 2023 without an ounce of makeup.
While discussing her new, glam-free appearance at the time, the actress told Vogue France, "I don't know, something just kind of came over me and I was dressing in these beautiful clothes and I thought, 'I don't want to compete with the clothes.' "
Anderson has been there and "done" that, she told the hosts. “I mean, I loved it,” she said of having around-the-clock glam. “It’s fun when you’re new in the business and you get all this attention. But I feel like I’ve done that and I kind of just wanted to simplify and keep it low key.”
The actress also said that going make-up free affected her acting career in a positive way.
“I feel like I could focus better when I did the film, too,” she said of working on the Gia Coppola-directed flick. “Of course you have … there’s a whole team around you, doing that. But in my personal life, even on red carpets and a couple of magazine covers, I’ve gotten out of wearing makeup and it’s been fun.”

Women wear makeup and fancy clothing to impress other women.
If they did it to impress men they’d wear nothing at all. :-)
I see women on tv news shows (mostly Fox) wearing false eyelashes and I’m amazed they can function with those giant black awnings on their eyes. I could never.
Personally, I think the false eyelashes have gotten out of control. It’s over the top. Almost every woman on TV wears them now. So when we see women on TV not wearing them, like Pamela Anderson, people think she’s ugly.
I really like the Trumps, but in my opinion, the Trump women wear too much makeup. They don’t need it. They’re beautiful women.
I agree I like make up free women.
Sooner or later, everyone becomes naturally beautiful.
Now that looks good to me. I tell my wife this all the time. She’s says that I just want her to stop spending money on makeup.
I agree 10000% !!!!!
The “Home Improvement” Pamela, I could take to for dinner with the parents.
The ‘Baywatch” Pamela, they would wonder how much she is charging by the hour !!!
Going clothing-free would save a lot of time too... just saying
I wear makeup but don’t have 10lbs of silicone in my chest, which makes me more natural.
What’s your point? Do you like plastic, fake women, or real ones? Askin’ for a friend.
***I don’t think she’s coming back.***
She ain’t comin’……..LOL
Ain’t comin’ back, either.
I should ask you this same question.
*** What’s your point? Do you like plastic, fake women, or real ones? Askin’ for a friend.***
I think I know your answer.
Yes
I don’t know if it’s still the case, but Avon used to have aborted fetal cells - - or so I’ve been told. That’s when I quit buying Avon makeup. And I really liked it.
Figured that’s what you’d reply.
Thanks for the confirmation.
