Pete Hegseth knew he was going to be attacked yesterday. He was prepared for it and quickly brushed it aside. It was merely a rehashing of the rumors, most spurious, that have besieged his character since President-elect Donald J. Trump announced him to helm the Pentagon. Hegseth shored up GOP support yesterday, that was clear when a host of Democrats went on an unhinged tirade against the man who calmly disarmed all of them.
After the hearing, as Katie wrote, Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) announced she would support Hegseth’s secretary of defense nomination.

Indeed she did! Good Lord. That face... Nasty down to her core, and a liar, too. Oh, and she’s still a Senator.
The senators need to understand that thousands of lives are quite likely to be at stake.
The lives of our military personnel need to come before even justified concerns of personal impropriety that is not punishable by law.
I wish he had said “hey lizzie, i heard a rumor that you lied about having native American heritage in order to get a job... care to confront that issue for the good folks here?”
Although tempting....that is not the time nor place to be a smart-ass. 😏
I’m not a General!
Howie Carr,a great Boston talk show host, has pointed out many times that this **** was paid something like $350,000 a year to teach *one* course at Harvard Law School before she decided to hop on the United States Senate gravy train.. Both her time at Harvard *and* her time in the Senate,of course, were made possible by her having checked the "American Indian" box on her application forms.
Somehow I doubt that Professor Alan Dershowitz was every paid $350K a year as a *Full Professor*.
She looked very stupid b/c she had no response...just a deer in the headlights in the middle of the road.
Like bho, many Senators appear incapable of thinking beyond their political cliches, or questions they or their staffers wrote for them. It’s all about getting a snapshot and soundbite as Bongino has said about today’s politix.
Senators mistakenly believe that their “high-minded” senatorial questions can only elicit one response, i.e. that questioner is trying to control the interrogated. The one feminazi senator lost it yesterday, frustrated and screaming at her inability to control Hegspeth to answer her question with either “yes” or “no”, and no other way, like he was being cross-examined. She wasn’t open to supporting him no matter what. The demonkkkraps are experts at never answering questions; I loved the theater in seeing the tables turned on them ... they hate it when they cannot control their enemy.
sorry lieawatha
your pain dance failed and backfired
Senate staffers inside their own echo chamber reherse, script the questions, and test the reactions among themselves. They then deliver the script to the senator to play “gotchas” in the real hearings. They just don’t know how to represent a spontaneous discussion seeking information. Very sad really.
Did you see King sitting next to her? That reaction was gold.
Yes democrats keep proving how dangerous they are to America.
The screeching female Dem senators looked unhinged yesterday. They made a strong case for voting against DEI candidates. Much like Kamala, they all read from a script and came across like ex wives. On the Dem male cuck side, Tim Kaine came across as a pervert. Pete was fortunate in his adversaries.
He defines "creepy".
It’s weird Fauxcahonta Buffalo Wing Cheek Bones didn’t already know Pete wasn’t a general.
None of the dems were open to supporting him, and it was laughable that they scolded him for not meeting with them to be harrangued and harassed like they did to him in the hearing. Would have liked for him to have said “why? Would meeting with you have made even a modicum of difference in your vote? The answer of course is a respunding no, so why would i waste my time listening to you rant at me?”
Of course we all onow they would lie and say “quite possibly yes, it would have made a difference”. If the left ever told the truth, their hair would ca5ch on fire
Yet with everyone and everyplace having cameras there are no pictures of any of the claims made. Interesting.
“I wish he had said... “
I can’t even count how many “I wish he had said”
situations there were yesterday!
