The Los Angeles home where The Doors guitarist Robby Krieger penned the band’s hit psychedelic rock single “Light My Fire” was destroyed in the Palisades Fire.
Krieger — a founding member of the legendary genre-bending LA band — wrote the lyrics to the classic in the living room of his parents’ Pacific Palisades home in 1966.

Seemed laughably absurd.
Jim Morrison’s father was US Navy Rear Admiral George Stephen Morrison (served in action in WWII and Korea) who led the Carrier Division during the Gulf of Tonkin Incident in 1964.
On August 2, 1964, the USS Maddox was attacked by three North Vietnamese Navy torpedo boats.
The Maddox fired warning shots, but the North Vietnamese boats responded with torpedoes and machine gun fire.
This incident gave the Johnson administration the justification to increase US involvement in the Vietnam War.

The staff wanted to be allowed to take pictures but the manager refused. Seeing their chance later they rushed in, stayed long enough to take the iconic picture for the album and then rushed out as they were kicked out again.

Note: Abbie Hoffman and others set up a photo-op where they bought trees from a nursery and brought them in with a truck and dug holes and planted them in the grassy areas next to the city streets. Police arrested them for not having a permit.

In 2015 Donald Trump was castigated on leftist media for his xenophobia and racism when he said Mexico and the other countries are not sending their best in the flood of illegals.
