Millions of Hindu devotees are bathing in sacred waters as the world’s biggest religious gathering begins in India’s northern state of Uttar Pradesh.

Over the next six weeks, a staggering 400 million people are expected to attend the Maha Kumbh Mela, or the festival of the Sacred Pitcher, on the riverbanks in the city of Prayagraj.

I heard once that drinking a cup full of water from the Ganges would kill a westerner. You can literally sit on the banks and watch bodies float by.

There was a story about an official in the Punjab region who claimed a river was cleaned up. As proof he drank a glass of water from the river. He ended up in the hospital.

What a sad spectacle... most will be lost for all of eternity.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6

A cup from the Dead Sea will also kill you, but that’s just from minerals. I’d rather die of minerals.

In Prayagraj, followers will bathe in the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of three holy rivers – the Ganga, Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati – to purify their sins and take another step closer to “spiritual liberation.”

Washing away anyone's sin requires something more precious than water from the confluence of three so-called holy rivers.

this is a true story but years ago, a group of scientists in India wanted to find out who in the world had the smallest brains as a population. Unfortunately, they came to the conclusion that the people of India on average, have the smallest brains of anyone in the world. I think it’s most likely because so many of them are vegetarian and they don’t get enough animal protein. Your brain is mostly made up of fat so it actually makes sense. There’s nothing genetically wrong with them, it’s just their nutrition is horrible. As soon as they started eating meat, I’m sure they would probably come up to the world average in a few generations. But I always thought that was interesting.

And because our betters say so, any number of them can come into our country and take your job. Because that’s what makes America great. And proves we are not racists.

Shoot! I’ve already planned my vacation for this year. But maybe next year ... sounds like fun. Gotta remember to pack my Ivermectin for that river blindness thing, though.

My friend’s doctor here in TN is Indian, and she pretty much said the same thing. There’s reason she specializes in gastro-intestinal medicine.

Well I’ve done the Dead Sea float. It’s interesting. Very slick and slippery in consistency compared to normal H2O. You are warned not to go into it if you have any sort of cuts in your skin or you’ll quickly learn the meaning of rubbing salt into a wound.
