A San Antonio woman is in custody after giving birth in a Whataburger bathroom and attempting to push and flush her newborn baby girl down the toilet, authorities say.
Police report that two hours after Mallori Strait entered the Whataburger lobby, she went into the bathroom for a few hours. The restaurant’s manager checked on Strait several times after hearing noises from the stall and even offered her water. When concern for Strait’s well-being grew, the manager called the police, according to KSAT.
When authorities arrived on the scene, they were met with a tragic situation. Reports on the incident state a firefighter “had to physically grab the [baby]and pull on the [baby]to remove the body from inside the ‘U trap’ of the drain on the toilet.”
When being detained, Strait was reported to be uncooperative. However, the arrest affidavit reports one phrase she said: “I’m sorry. I’m not selfish.”
Mallori Strait and her daughter were taken to a local hospital, where her baby was pronounced dead. It was confirmed that Mallori was in her third trimester, around 28-30 weeks pregnant, meaning her daughter likely could have survived and been healthy with proper medical care. A doctor told police that the newborn’s injuries were “consistent with being forced into the drain, and by suction” from flushing the toilet. She has since been charged with abuse of a corpse.

I hemorraghed when I was 32 weeks pregnant. My daughter was delivered via emergency c-section and careflighted to another hospital. I started dying on the delivery table. As my heart monitor started beeping slower and slower and my blood pressure started crashing, I asked only two things: was she alive and could I see her face. The anastethiologist kept hitting my right hand, calling my name, demanding I grab his hand. I could feel the frantic increase of pressure as the doctor moved his hands inside me, lifting my baby out of me.
She was alive and the nurse gave me a brief flash of her face before racing her off to the medical helicopter.
“I love you,” I told my husband. “I have to go now.” Then I blacked out.
Poor man aged overnight.
Two days later I was pulling out my IVs and demanding a release so I could go to her at the other hospital.
What is the difference between a mother willing to die for their child and one willing to kill their child?
One of them believes in God.

Just give birth and place the baby into the box at fire stations or a hospital. The baby will live and you will have no consequences except for giving life and not death. If it is a premature birth please go to a hospital and they will save the baby and he or she will be placed in loving homes that want that child. It is that simple.
