Obviously written by a Leftard.
I bet their model is 50% how “friendly” a state is to gays.
So all these “best” articles have the same order in their list. Best state to retire! Best state for quality of life! Best state to raise a family! All with the same corrupted criteria
Define a family.
Looking at the bottom 10 or so this list is incredibly racist.
Not worth much if the article doesn’t say why the worst States are the worst. My State was one of the worst, but why?
Other than my military service I’ve lived my entire life in Massachusetts. While I hate the politics, it’s a good place to live if you have money. My wife and I make high 6 figures so can afford our 3 kids in a wealthy suburb. But there’s plenty of shitty towns too.
Best? Most are states where the taxation and liberal policies are so foolish that normal people have already fled....
The Maine Stats are incorrect
Violence has skyrocketed in Maine and so have cartel drugs.
I wonder what they mean by Socio Economics Rank
Please don’t move to Alabama to raise a family or kill a family or even move here. We only have one dentist in the entire state and one doctor that sees both human and animals. Please stay in the top 10 BLM states. We do assign you a cousin wife at the boarder. So if you have a hot first cousin then there is that but just stay away from Alabama.
Absolutely unbelievable. Massachusetts is such a wonderful state to raise a family that most Bostonians who can afford to send their kids to private school despite also being taxed to pay for public school.
Massachusetts is the 2nd most expensive state to live in. WalletHub ranked it #1 in affordability. And it ranked 3rd worst in income inequality.
My folks moved to PA so I wouldn’t grow up in NYC. I have since seen for myself what it’s like there — they did the right thing.
The public schools are horrible (I was homeschooled) and the homeschooling laws are downright tyrannical. There’s no beach. Libraries at Bucknell and Susquehanna U are adequate but they can’t compare to Princeton, and I do a heap of research. I don’t like pumping gas and the full service station is virtually obsolete.
OTOH, the state is very gun friendly. Taxes are shockingly low. There’s a decent amusement park not too far away, and a drive-in theater. Few toll roads. Best antique shops in the whole dang country. Some unusual tourist attractions (caves, train museum) and treasures of old architecture. Except for the big cities and the colleges, people are sane and sensible conservatives. Weather’s generally pleasant.
Every now and then I get tempted to move to another state but they all have more drawbacks than PA.
total BS
According to this, only blue states should have families.
It should thus be emphasized that many of these criteria - e.g., the "low childhood poverty rate" of Massachusetts - are attributable to underlying factors from which a benefit cannot be extracted by a doughty migrant moving to the given state.
Rather, the state historically attracted people of a certain ilk and/or they became that way after many generations, and your moving there will not instantly make you more like them.
The benefits of the underlying factors cannot be acquired merely by a change of address.
