What is the difference between cardiac arrest and heart failure?

Depends on how technical or how vernacular you’re being.
Congestive heart failure means the heart isn’t strong enough to pump the blood all the way through strongly enough, so you get fluid accumulation particularly in the lower extremities, IIRC.

Cardiac arrest means the sucker stops beating.

Heart aattck is usually due to a certain part/muscle area of the heart being damaged due to lack of oxygenated blood due to clogged arteries.

Heart failure can be for other reasons, afib, rupture/tear, valve tear/problem, etc

short term VS long term. Cardiac arrest is a heart attack. Heart failure us a long-term condition in which heart function deteriorates to the point of death.
