Therefore they got behind a strawman argument that “actors’ likenesses” which theoretically have star value etc. would be lost if genAI films were made as the potential harm for their lawsuits, and NewScum happily obeyed.
Personally I would be happier if “acting” was relegated to the niche of live performances. It’s a net negative to see the same people over and over IMO. Meanwhile an untapped well of creativity is blocked by the perv freaks that run the “entertainment industry.”

And the thing that makes this the MOST impressive is that the person who created this told the AI what to make with words. “Gavin Newsom playing violin as the hollywood sign burns behind him”. Would get you the basis, then you’d have to offer tweaks to get exactly what you wanted, but that’s it. And THAT is why Hollweird is freaked out by it.
