A pizza delivery worker has been charged with pushing her way into a motel room with an accomplice and stabbing a pregnant woman in front of her five-year-old daughter after a dispute over a lousy tip.
Brianna Alvelo, 22, was charged with stabbing the woman in her motel room in Kissimmee, Florida, a short time after delivering a pizza to her on Sunday, according to the Osceola County Sheriff's Office.
The woman gave Alvelo $50 on a $33.10 bill, expecting to receive $16.90 in change back.
When Alvelo started walking away, the woman asked for money back, but the pizza deliverer told her they didn't carry change as a company policy, according to an arrest report.
The woman began searching for smaller denominations in two purses in her motel room and in her car, with Alvelo watching.
She got a smaller dollar bill from her boyfriend, with whom she was staying at the motel along with her five-year-old daughter.
It meant Alvelo's tip ended up being $2. Alvelo 'rolled her eyes and walked away without saying anything,' the report seen by WESH said.
A short time later, the woman, her boyfriend and daughter were asleep when they heard a knock on their door at the Riviera Motel.
Upon opening the door they were confronted by a woman, who authorities said was Alvelo, and an armed man, both wearing face masks, who pushed their way into the room.
The armed man ordered the boyfriend into the bathroom.
Alvelo rummaged through their belongings in the motel room and then stabbed the woman 14 times with a pocket knife as she shielded her daughter, the arrest report details.
The report states how the woman was stabbed in her chest, arms, legs, and stomach.

This is another fine mess I’ve gotten myself into.

The 1930 Laurel and Hardy movie Another Fine Mess.
I wonder what gang she is in.
I can remember when 20% was a good tip. At the bottom of the receipt, they would show tip calculations for 15, 18, and 20%. Now, they typically show 20, 25, and 30%. So 20% magically went from being a good tip to being a crappy tip. Also, the calculation was formerly based on the pre-tax amount. Now, they base it on the post-tax amount.
But my biggest peeve is being expected to tip someone for just taking my order at the counter. That's nuts!
“tipping is out of control in this country”
No kidding. The POS terminals now ask for 18%, 20% or 25% tip! I am backlashing, click “Custom” and leave 10%.
“I just snapped.”
xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
what country did Brianna Alvelo immigrate in from?
If anyone cares to look, they may find out that this dirt bag was using the pizza delivery job as way to fund her primary job of casing homes for burglary and finding vulnerable targets with cash to rob.
Looks like a nice girl.
5. be armed and ready to throw down.
I pay cash all the time so I don’t get confronted with such nonsense.
The check out at the grocery store has a screen with buttons asking for contributions of 1 -100 dollars in $20 increments to some charity and McDonalds and Dairy Queen have options to round up your purchase “for charity”
Here is the scam on these charity “donations” - the store usually gets a commission , some time as much as 30%, for the fund raising on the money they generate. .
Sounds like a bunch of dumb assery by all parties.
WHO opens a motel door in the middle of the night? Next time - tip the driver.
Tipping used to be based on amount of work and "service". A great waitress who visits your table many times, checks in when appropriate and is attentive should get 25%. She worked hard and provided great service. They have these tip credit card machines at a local concert venue. You order a beer, which is at a 500% markup, they reach behind and grab it our of a standup cooler and hand it to you, they turn the machine so you can swipe and enter your tip, it's either 0% or 5% - no work and no exemplary service
And a lot of the time the tip is for nothing more than making your food and handing it to you.
Backstory. Years ago Laz and I had fun at Mexican girls who use Sharpies on their eyebrows.
Premeditated planning and coming back with an armed accomplice is not “just snapped”
Oh no now I’ll be getting a visit...
She’s lovely Laz. Did you get her number?
Tipping may be optional, but understand, you are a bad tipper, those serving you will remember. I delivered Pizza’s back in college... the worst tippers by far, ON AVERAGE, were the from the biggest most expensive houses.
I had a delivery once to a very very large elegant home, the bill was something like 12.90 or something, she gave me $13, and then made a point of telling me to keep the change. I told her on, no, dug a dime out of my pocket, and handed it back to her and told her she clearly needed it more than I did.
Well, she didn’t take being humiliated well, so after screaming various things at me as I left to return to the store, which was only a few minutes away... She apparently decided to call back to the store and complain to my manager. He was on the phone with her when I returned, he called me over, asked me what happened, because clearly the story she told was not the whole story... Manager listened to me, returned to the phone, asked the woman if my version of events were correct... and she confirmed that they were, and he told her to never call back an added her address and phone number to the do not serve list. I had worked at that shop for years, had been a reliable and good employee, and the boss knew that that was far more valuable than the $4 dollars in profit at most he was going to make off her per order.
If you were a lousy tipper, and did so regularly, believe me the drivers knew, and your pizza would always be the last one that got delivered. If they left the store with 4 deliveries, even if yours was the one that had been ordered first, and even if it was the closest one to the store, your order was going to be delivered dead last on his runs. And if you ordered regularly, the drivers would all let each other know.. so even if the “new guy” got your order, the more experienced folks would let them know that one was a dud, and don’t go out of your way for them.
So, while tipping is optional, and you should not stab someone over a lousy tip... those that think not tipping doesn’t have consequences, believe me it does. By the time I left that job, I knew every single regular and semi regular customer that was a lousy tipper, and you better believe not a single one ever got a hot and fresh order. They had self filtered themselves to the bottom of the priority queue.
What are the chances that the delivery woman didn’t have some cash on her from previous tips?
