I grew up on the Long Island expressway
No
Manhattan and nyc suburban drivers are ten times better than those in Houston which is completely insane. Last time I tried to drive in Atlanta was amazed at the insanity
A NASCAR Track is safer than Atlanta’s Beltway...............
In October my wife and I went to Italy.
Took the train from Rome to Naples.
A driver picked us up and drove out to Sorrento.
The drivers are VERY aggressive. The lanes are narrow. Every car has scraps down the side. Lots of cars are missing their side view mirrors.
Then there are the scooter drivers that drive down the center line veering in and out of the oncoming lane to pass cars/trucks. Traffic is bumper to bumper the whole trip.
Then you enter the tunnel which is about five miles long. One lane in each direction.
Me too, then I moved upstate NY and now in Jersey. One thing about New Jersey is at least the drivers are some what competent here. 99% chance the slow poke blocking the left lane here has either New York or Pennsylvania plates.
New York Drivers suck. Bottom of the barrel. The worst are NY City and Long Island drivers, who on the Thurway drive 45 mph in the left lane with nobody in front of them. Oh and if you try and go around them on the right, then they will speed up and it becomes a race.
A close second are Virginia drivers, GAWD people, you live here, you know there's nothing around the curve, why do you slam your brakes at every slightest 1 or 2 degree change in direction of the road.
Atlanta drivers suck too, especially at left turn signals, instead of everyone moving in a reasonably spaced out line, the 1st guy goes, while the 2nd guy waits back at the light until the 1st guys makes it all the way, then the 2nd guy goes while the 3rd guy will again sit back waiting for him to make it all the way, then he goes and the forth, etc, etc. You can have a turn signal last 60 or more seconds but only 2 or 3 cars make it. Why? Why do you people do this? Go already..
NY, Boston, Houston etc. are bad, but truely insane IMHO is I-95 from Ft. Lauderdale to Miami. A combination of confused octogenarians doing 30 mph and 3rd world lunatics doing 120 mph and ignoring every traffic law.
