The fires are the worst in the city's history.
Comedian Billy Crystal and TV personality Paris Hilton are among the many who have lost their homes in devastating wildfires currently happening in Los Angeles.
The unprecedented event has seen areas such as the Pacific Palisades neighbourhood and the iconic Sunset Boulevard have been largely destroyed. At least five fires are being fought by emergency services, with three being reported as unconfined. Over 137,000 people have been evacuated, with five reported deaths.

Prayers to the victims, even though many of them voted for radical enviromental democrats who let this happen.
Absolutely it sucks. But, you get what you vote for.
James Woods was smart to get out first with his stories as there will be a lot of celebrities who lose houses.
Interesting to see who gets a building permit and who donates to the “reelection” campaign funds.
Yup - most or all of these stars advocated and voted for the politicians who have so badly bungled this disaster. But no one deserves this kind of loss. My sympathies to the families and friend of those who have lost their lives and to all of those who’ve lost their homes - all of them have lost priceless possessions of great sentimental value and most of them are not stars who can afford the financial impact.
Dems don't seem very good at connecting the dots.
At least Paris can stay in a hotel...................🙄
Hilton? Hows about kickin’ down some hotel rooms? Or are they full of illegals?
Don’t forget that most of them Fund the Sierra Club and other Environmenta Whacko groups that are behind most of the Stupid the Scumbag politicians implemented.
THAT’s HOT
Vote for democrats and one dies by democrats.
The Daily Mail (because when you have to dumpster dive..) has many stories about this celeb or that, “taking to social media”, bawling about the complete destruction of their beloved homes.
Will the little people be stirred to compassion and pity on account of these public emotional displays? Self-important celebs must think so. Not that there’s any shortage of those who live vicariously through their favorite stars, but still,
How many of these Hollywood drama queens own multiple multi-million dollar homes to chose from, unlike the peasants they’ll see fit to lecture to about climate change, green whatever — pick a weirdo ideology for which sacrifices are necessary.
It’s all a strange thing to observe. Suddenly family mementos are meaningful to the shallow.
Regardless of anyone’s views about the entertainment class, the ostentatious living of the Beautiful People is evidence that they have money to burn.
Paris can always go stay at the Hilton.
There IS a smoking gun.
Thanks to Our President DJT.
The video of Trump with Governor Newscum is a smoking gun.
The video was made nearly six years ago.
Trump clearly puts the responsibility of PREVENTING such devastation on the state and local gubmints.
Ricki Lake was quoted as her home that was destroyed was “perfect”.
Living in LaLa land is NOT living in paradise.
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION matters.
When your “perfect” home is located in governmental districts operated by the likes of Newscum, Bass, and all the Democrat hack county commissioners, then what did you expect?
When you pay your taxes particularly the obscene amount paid in Kalifornia, you should expect that your safety and security should be job one.
But “celebrities” may learn from losing their homes that their trust in a Marxist led gubmint was misplaced.
Or they may learn nothing and go on voting for the Newscums and Basses that don’t give a diddly squat about anything other than advancing and anti-American Marxist agenda.
In fact, I think Adam Corolla has no idea how things work in California and he gotten things way wrong.
For the Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts of the world, this fire is a god send.
Places like Malibu are filled with tiny, ancient homes that any place else would sell for $400K or so sitting on $13 million prime lots.
They can't demo the old houses to build the mansions they would love to build because of land and permit restrictions.
There are tons of well heeled LA canyon dwellers who have been fighting for years for permission to demo their old home and rebuild their dream mansion on their prime piece of LA property.
This is the opportunity of a life time for them to a bit of urban renewal - Hollywood style.
And I guarantee you that the politically connected likes of Tom Hanks and Le Bron will have no trouble getting their permits to sail through.
The ordinary people.... well, we are screwed.
But not them.
That is the whole point of being “The Elite”
The new status symbol and power perk in Hollyweird is going to be how how fast and how much you can get away with as you can push your extravagant new mansion rebuild plans through LA’s plans review process.
The faster you can go and the more decadent stuff you can ram through, the bigger of a big shot you are to brag to your friends. After all, you can only have so many Lambos and Ferraris. Gucci is going to make a fortune of monogrammed blue print vellum.
All it takes is a quick personal call and an envelope of cash to Karen Bass and you are golden.
Her popularity with the clebs will be off the chart.
Surprised it took ten posts.
Its pretty obvious by these threads that many around here arent either.
OT, but nails on the blackboard English language irritation Level 2...
Headline: “...to lose homes” - future tense.
Body: “have lost their homes” - past tense.
Grrrrr. /lousy writing rant.
And why is it more news when it’s someone famous?
Personally, I’m having a hard time working up sympathy for the very leftists who voted for and supported the mess the state is in.
Plus, they have money to replace those things.
The rest of us unwashed don’t.
So spare me the tears for the rich and famous finally having to lie like the rest of us.
Not you, Dallas. The author....
