(snip) As photos of the destruction of the Pacific Palisades have surfaced, TMZ reports homes of stars like Adam Brody and Leighton Meester have been destroyed. The site also notes Anna Faris lost her home in the fires.

Diane Warren shared on social media that her beach house was lost in the fires and posted a picture she had taken days before.

“This is the last pic I took of Leah’s rock from my beach house. I’ve had this house for almost 30 years. It looks like it was lost in the fire last nite,” Warren posted on Instagram. “There’s a rainbow shining on it which I’m taking as a sign of hope for all creatures who have been affected by this tragedy. The animals and the rescue ranch are OK tho which is the most important thing. Stay safe everyone.”

Jamie Lee Curtis posted a video of the devastation the fires caused in her neighborhood.

“Our beloved neighborhood is gone. Our home is safe. So many others have lost everything. Help where you can. Thank you to the first responders and firefighters,” Curtis posted on Instagram.

Spencer Pratt has been active on social media as his home was affected by the fires. On Wednesday morning, The Hills alum posted a screenshot from a nursery camera inside his home before flames took over his house.

“The one positive sign i saw as our house burned down was ours sons bed burned in the shape of a heart,” Pratt wrote. “A sign of how much love was in this house so thankful for all the years and memories there with our family.”

It wasn’t that Woods didn’t voluntary not carry insurance. His insurance was cancelled 3 months before because of the restrictions that Newsom put on the insurance companies to operate in the date, so his company pulled out. It was impossible for him to get another policy.

Jeez why is everyone so bitter here? I haven’t seen where any of these “celebrities” asked for anything. They’ve expressed sympathy for victims of the fire, thanks to the firefighters, and helped their neighbors when they were able. Do you also begrudge the victims who are not famous but whose homes burned and were interviewed by the media? And are people in CA somehow responsible for victims of a hurricane in TN?

Last year, State Farm canceled 1,600 policies in Pacific Palisades because the state would not allow them to raise premiums enough to cover their exposure. The affected homeowners would then likely have to rely on the state-run FAIR Plan, an expensive last-resort insurance program. But the FAIR Plan reportedly only had a surplus of $200 million as of April 2024 and was likely to become insolvent if a catastrophic event occurred.

Governor Newsom goes around posturing about politics instead of trying to solve urgent problems. Our state government takes billions of dollars from hard-working Californians and provides barely anything in return. An unconscionable failure.

If State Farm hadn’t canceled their policies, the company would be in a dire situation right now.

Maybe the state needs to rethink it’s laws preventing insurers from charging premiums commiserate with risk.

Not true. Many companies are declining to cover property in CA, like they have in FL, but insurance is available under the California Fair Plan, and they cannot deny coverage. James Woods and Kennedys mom (whoever that is - surprised her speaking out with her tale of woe did not incite the bitterness and jealousy shown so much regarding these fires) took unnecessary risks and lost.

The insurance company cancelled hundreds of policies. He didn’t say which company cancelled but iirc State Farm pulled out of CA completely.

“Those imperious elites probably held fundraisers for the various liberal causes that CREATED this devastation.”

Yep. And donated their own money to them, too.

Suckers.

Billy Crystal lost his home of 45 years and Eugene Levy (SCTV and many movies) also lost his home.
