Checked on some friends in the area. They currently check safe. But, WOW! Like the fires in the Sierras a while back except highly congested population in this case.

A lot of people here badmouthing Californians seem to forget that the founder of this forum, Mr. Robinson, lives in California - in fact, if he’s still in Fresno, he’s in a place which also experiences wildfires.
(And if I recall, one of the flags I see most frequently on FR homepages, is the California one.)

I'm just back online tonight after power was finally restored... with these high winds in La Verne, California( about 30 minutes east of Los Angeles)... three of my friends have lost homes in the Eaton Canyon fire....and the Palisades are destroyed!! It has been a horrific heartbreaking week here at our home....
But the anger is intense!! SO MANY are mad when they realize that the WATER hydrants went DRY!!!!!!!!Why? Because our Demonic Governor refused to address the water issue and protected an " endangered SMELT fish".... that cost homes, and lives!! Something MUST be done. I am 83 and never seen fires like this...
Thankyou Lazamataz for the thread. There are many many from Southern California that are hurting tonight...
I'm personally exhausted, but grateful power has been restored.
