I joined yesterday in 2000 after lurking for several months. I joined under my first screen name which is still active but a year or two later I changed it to this one.
Happy FRanniversary! Think of all the disk space you’re taking up at the NSA.
For me it was a Win98 in a walk-in closet, plus dialup. I was so little I had to use a step stool to get into the chair. Computers soon got smaller, I got taller.
The 2000 election was among my earliest memories. Probably because a tv was allowed in the house, just for that occasion.
Congrats, also...but thanks a bunch for reminding me I’m almost 3 times your age!

A friend of mine had a Mercury Bobcat wagon with the 4 cylinder engine and an automatic. It had a 0-60 time of about 35 seconds. My family had an early 60s diesel Mercedes that had about the same rate of acceleration.
