Russia wants Ukraine
China wants Hong Kong
USA could use Greenland and they can have California in exchange, not that anybody wants it. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Threats?? I swear, this NY Post is turning more leftist every time I read it, but I guess it’s to be expected being that their headquarters are in the leftist sphincter hole of the east coast NYC. Everything Trump says or does, the left constantly salivates to compare him to Hitler.

I posted this on her thread......

Hey Diana, when you tell someone you may be interested in buying something they have like a painting, a house, whatever, does that mean you are “threatening to acquire” it? “I may be interested in that car you have, I shall threaten to acquire it!”

There is a whole 57,000 people or so there.
They’d be stupid to want to be in a Socialist wasteland
run by Denmark when they could have the status of a state in the USA.
2 Senators and one representative.
By elections of local governments
they can make a mess of themselves, just
like most USA states have.
That is called freedom.

Donny likes hunting. Trump should buy Greenland for Don Jr’s new hunting grounds, there must be plenty of deer and moose there. And dangerous polar bears.
Of course open up Greenland to all American hunters.
__________

Greenland offers unique hunting opportunities, but the situation is more complex than simply hunting deer and moose. Here’s an overview of hunting in Greenland and the current polar bear situation:

Hunting in Greenland

Greenland provides hunting opportunities for two main species:
Caribou (Reindeer): Greenland is home to large caribou, also called reindeer. These animals are abundant and can produce impressive trophies, with many scoring in the 300- to 350-inch range5. Caribou hunting typically occurs after August 1st3.

Muskox: Greenland offers excellent muskox hunting opportunities. The muskox population in the Kangerlussuaq area has grown to around 4,000-5,000 individuals since their introduction in 19631. Trophy quality for muskox is outstanding, with many older bulls qualifying for record books3.

It’s important to note that moose are not native to Greenland, and there is no moose hunting there.

Hunting Methods and Seasons
Hunting is typically done on foot, sometimes using boats for transportation3.

Summer muskox hunts occur in July, August, and September3.
Winter hunts are also available, using snowmobiles, ATVs, or dog sleds for transportation3.

Well, that author is an idiot.

My take?

First off, Denmark heavily subsidizes Greenland, and supplies a minimal defense.* Self-supported, unless Greenland really ramps up energy exports, it’s standard of living would decrease dramatically as an independent country. Their PM knows this, so he is just spouting for some of the locals.

*Denmark is stepping up the defense end a bit, but, really, Greenland is quite vulnerable without the US to defend it. It’s just way too big, and Denmark too small. Connected to Denmark, yes, NATO is theoretically a backup, but, in particular in terms of navies, Europe in general is VERY badly stretched at this time.

On its own, the defense situation for Greenland is even worse. It would HAVE to apply for membership to NATO, and Trump could play hardball.

So far, what we have heard from Greenlanders and the Danes indicates a tremendous amount of “normalcy bias” and inability to think “outside the box”. At the same time, Trump’s statement about the importance of Greenland to US defense / security gives a not much recognized but VERY crucial insight as to what Trump really thinks of Pooty, not what Trump’s political opponents (and some supporters) tell you to think about what Trump thinks of Pooty. Trump is right too... Meanwhile, the same sort of thinking that left Europe unable to deter Pooty (they even laughed at Trump telling them they darn well needed to beef up their defenses) fogs the minds of the gov’ts of Denmark and Greenland, when it comes to Greenland.

I mean, look. In a nice world, I’d be all for Greenland being independent, and then I guess it’d be up to them whether they want to be poor or not, although they might want to consider if they have some responsibility to sell needed resources to the rest of humanity. Nobody minds much if Greenland makes some money doing so. 🙂

But... That’s not realistic. It is NOT a nice world. Not one damn bit. Among major military powers, the US has been about as benevolent as it gets, the last few generations, and we are the country that nuked Japan and helped firebomb Dresden (at the top of the list of “tough” things the US has done.) But at least we’ve not murdered millions of our own for political purposes, and we’ve not done much of the “conquer and brutally rule for generations” bit, for the last several decades.

Think clearly and realistically: In a too often nasty world, what is Greenland’s least bad choice?

Greenland is closer to America, than to Denmark!

Distance to Denmark
The shortest distance between Greenland and Denmark is approximately 2,063 km (1,282 miles)8. This represents the closest distance between the borders of the two countries.

Distance to USA
The shortest distance between Greenland and the United States is approximately 1,973 km (1,226 miles)7.

Being on a little island with the possibility of becoming part of the U.S. is very attractive. We spend billions studying lesbians to see why they’re fat so a few billion to buy Greenland is ok in my book.

Ice Station Zebra plan for non-fireable federal workers.

Just establish a base there for all leftist useless employees. A navy surplus grey desk. Hundreds in a hanger. Time clock.

They go in. Clock in. No cell or computer or phone.

They clock out when the klaxon alerts.

They get paid or quit.

Also a holding location for illegals. Tents. Be a bit chilly. Or they can go home.

Not theta he ever would, but it would be great to wa5ch the left if he “threatened” to go all ghengis khan (someone the left love and adore btw) on the world. Its funny watching the left dramatize the issue claiming he is doing so-
