A massive winter storm poised to unleash a barrage of heavy snow, treacherous ice, rain, and severe thunderstorms across a 1,300-mile swath of the United States will affect an estimated 62 million people starting Saturday afternoon and continuing into Monday.

Snow and ice so far this winter in the eastern two-thirds of the country have been limited to northern states.

In central AZ, highs for the next 10 days are either in the high 60’s or low 70’s. I blame Hunga Tonga.

yeah, yeah, yeah....a big storm brews 36 days after the solstice/the shortezt day of the year/ the declared beginning of winter.

its still ‘the deep of winter’, which usually does bring large storms, blizzards, and hazards for humans once outside their home’s door.

i remember a blizzard, and being stuck in a highway Glass Host restaurant in Rolling Prairie, Ind. in 1966.

Hence, from the first falling of tree leaves, till the arrival of Spring, that there might be a monster storm.

Thanks.

I have an app on my iPad that’s an Intellicast Weather Radar which shows mush better detail but had NO idea how to link to it, if that’s even possible.

There’s this but it’s nowhere near the one I have downloaded.
https://www.wunderground.com/maps/radar/current

There’s a link in there for mobile devices apps.

Here in our county in eastern TN, prediction is for “wintry mix”; I’m not a fan of wintry mix.

Last night the prediction was for ice, then rain. But I figure they had that sequence backward. In any case, probably not going to attempt getting to church as there are steep hills going into that subdivision.

There are icicles hanging from my hubby’s beard this morning.

Where’s our global warming, Algore?!

WE WANT OUR GLOBAL WARMING.

Not under threat from the weather.

From Deep State.

And be in prayer for the ones who will suffer greatly and haven’t the means to prepare.

You don’t understand. Glow-Bull warming operates like a heat pump. To produce heat it has to discard a very, very cold byproduct. That’s why we still have winter and that’s why the polar ice caps keep getting higher.

I thought this was called “winter”? Now it seems that every winter storm is going to kill us all and destroy civilization. What’s up with that?

Have you seen the forecast and weather maps???? A storm this size is pretty rare.

See post 14.

Blizzard, ice storms, and tornadoes are not just winter.

All things considered, I would rather be in the blizzard part than the “please shoot me” ice storm part.

I hear you.

We had a pretty mild winter last year and I’m a bit suspicious of what we may be in for from a nor’easter this winter.

We are ready for it because if we do get an ice storm, there will be trees down everywhere, and we lose power at the drop of a hat to begin with. And ice storm would guarantee it and who knows for how long. Depends on how long the ice takes to melt.

I hope the windmills and solar panels are up to the job of keeping people from freezing during the likely blackouts.

‘’wintry mix’’.

Sounds like a cocktail.

“I’ll have a Wintry Mix, please!’’.
