Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Several viruses -- seasonal respiratory flu, stomach flu, COVID-19 and RSV -- are surging in the United States and are expected to spike during the winter months, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Seasonal flu activity is elevated across the Untied States, including a rise in emergency visits, according to the CDC in its weekly update Friday.

My cleaning lady’s whole family has, according to her description of the symptoms, norovirus. They are all burning the candle at both ends, poor things. I texted her to wash her hands for 20 seconds if she uses the bathroom, diapers her grandkids, or prepares food, as well as sanitizing all surfaces used for food, and to make sure everyone is drinking a sports drink or Pedilyte to replenish electrolytes. I hope they all feel better soon.
Oh, noes.
I am so scared......

I pretty much do the Vitamin D hammer whenever I get something viral and I take a lot of Vit D (plus K) on a regular basis.
People with low Vit D levels did not fare well with COVID.
Vitamin D for Influenza
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4463890/
From link:
The Institute of Medicine recommendation for adults younger than 70 years of age is 600 IU of vitamin D daily. We are told that this would achieve a level of 50 nmol/L in greater than 97.5% of individuals.6 Regrettably, a statistical error has resulted in erroneous recommendations by the Institute of Medicine leading to this conclusion and it might actually take 8800 IU of vitamin D to achieve this level in 97.5% of the population.7 This is a serious public health blunder.
A colleague of mine and I have introduced vitamin D at doses that have achieved greater than 100 nmol/L in most of our patients for the past number of years, and we now see very few patients in our clinics with the flu or influenzalike illness. In those patients who do have influenza, we have treated them with the vitamin D hammer, as coined by my colleague. This is a 1-time 50 000 IU dose of vitamin D3 or 10 000 IU 3 times daily for 2 to 3 days. The results are dramatic, with complete resolution of symptoms in 48 to 72 hours. One-time doses of vitamin D at this level have been used safely and have never been shown to be toxic.8 We urgently need a study of this intervention. The cost of vitamin D is about a penny for 1000 IU, so this treatment costs less than a dollar.
Whoa! That’s a mighty fine run!
Do tell your secret :^)
I agree on the Vitamin D.. I two a day, daily! I believe mine are 5,000 IU each.
Did not know you can take up to 50,000 IU during flu!
I had it too in ‘77. Was so very sick. I remember being in bed and barely opening my eyes to see my mom hovering over me looking very concerned. I was about 21. I recovered. Haven’t had the flu since. Got COVID. That sucked. Didn’t get the vaccine but I recovered.
Oh noes! Cold and flu season. Run! Hide! Mask up.
The majority of deaths in most countries can be attributed to causes that feature a distinct seasonal pattern. The figure depicts the relative monthly frequencies of nine selected causes of death in the United States for women and men combined for the years 1959–2014. The reported number of counts in parentheses in the title of each panel is the actual number of deaths.
Viruses gonna virus. Even non-viruses gonna non-virus.

Strong antioxidant—Grape seed extract every day -start with about 8 or ten capsules and slowly lower to 1 capsule for every 100 pounds. There was a start of taking pennogenyl which is very similar, but more expensive- from Canada. I have told friends, and they came back thanking me. Costco used to sell it, but they stopped. Now Amazon delivers. I will be 78 next month.
Not pennogenyl—Pycnogenal—spelling?

Thanks for posting. I have been taking 5000 IU ( w/K2) per day for a few years now.
I’m taking this very serious. I just got my 17th covid booster yesterday. I’m going for my third annual flu shot tomorrow while I pick up an extra box of facial masks.
