Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-GA) joined Fox News on Friday as the House vote to elect a speaker was underway and Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) fell short of his keeping his job on the first ballot.
Gingrich was asked to weigh in on the vote and pulled no punches in slamming the House GOP members who tanked Johnson, “They’re contrarians. And you can’t have a contrarian caucus with a very, very narrow margin.”
“You were kind about my speakership, but I had a much bigger majority. And we had a country which was decisive. Now, the question I’d ask about Norman and Massie, so what’s part two? Well, other than helping Hakeem Jeffries and hurting Donald Trump, what do you think you’re accomplishing?” Gingrich continued, adding:

I couldn't have said it better.
Let's remember that the Republican Party had its largest House majority of my lifetime after the 2014 election. The party seriously damaged its chances of ever having that advantage again for years with its 2017 tax reform bill that capped state and local tax deductions. By doing that, the GOP effectively surrendered its dominant position in many of this nation's wealthiest suburbs in "blue" states like New York, New Jersey, California, etc.

Voters fired the GOP because they did nothing but the taxcuts, they did not do anything to undo Obama care and they allowed the “russia russia russia” scam to go unchecked.
They can fix that THIS time if they actively get busy significantly cube inflation driven by bad Federal spending and energy policy as well as the endless spending on Biden’s wars in the next year. They have to get it done now, not delay delay delay again
If they repeat the same do nothingism of the 2017/18 Romney/Ryan’s Congress they will be fired in by the same voters who voted them in in 11-05-24

The 2nd district congressman, incumbent Bruce Poliquin, had his seat stolen by Rank Choice Voting.
The Republican actually had 2,200 more votes than the RAT, Jaren Golden. Neither candidate had over 50% in the 2018 race, so when the second choices of the two minor candidates were counted, the RAT made it over the finish line.
The majority in my opinion would be much stronger if the electorate would get off their butts and work at the grass root level to rid the GOP of their Uni Party Rino problem.
The Rinos feel safe because for decades its always been the mindset of the voter to claim, “At least they don’t have a D behind their name.” Well they sure do. Its just hidden behind the R.
