I post this for guys, young and old, whose hair is thinning.

It is liberating to shave your head. I have done it since 1996. If your hair is thinning, you liberate yourself from worrying about it.

My hair started thinning in my 50s...so I bought some clippers and got rid of it.

It was magical. I was reborn.

As a contrary POV, I should share what my girl friend at the time had to say.

She said, "You look like a thumb. Perhaps a penis."

I said, "Are you saying that's a bad thing?"

I dumped her right afterward.

my hair started thinning in the front soewhat a few years ago. I use minoxidil and I am shaggy from Scooby Doo. It actually works. It relaxes blood vessels in your skin to improve blood flow. More blood flow equals more hair for some reason. Who knew. But yeah, it works.

I tried minoxidil many years ago. It made my heart palpitate. I dropped it and kept increasing my exercise program.

I don't like medicine from big Pharma.

I trust exercise.

I shaved my head in my forties when it started looking patchy. I couldn’t stand the man bun/ponytail with bald streak trend I was seeing. Just shear it all off and be done with it.

I take that back. There are some men who are so beastly ugly that they are not vain.

This thread is not for the beastly ugly guys. They wouldn't get it.

This thread is for regular guys who wonder how to deal with hair loss.

And there is a great way to deal with it. Shave it off.

The Apostle Paul did it (Acts 18:18).

Yep. That's exactly how an insecure man would respond. And all men are insecure. Me too.

Though it takes courage to admit it. Kudos to you on your courage.

However ugly you think you are, remember that God loves you and created you in his image.

You are only ugly because you think you are.

In God's eyes, you are as beautiful as a baby kitten or puppy.

But when I shaved my head, I felt empowered.

I didn't realize how many of my insecurities were hair-related.

It takes bravery to admit how you feel about things. It isn't feminine because you are not woman.

Think about it. Men are incredibly vain. We revel in our masculinity. We revel in our powerful imagery.

That isn't feminine.

Look at Rocky or the Rock or Ahhhnold.

Been shaving my head since I was 20. I always hated my hair how it just grew in to an unmanageable mess. I shave it down to the skin every few days and love not worrying about it.

I went the opposite way as my hair continues to be rather thick in my old age. As I entered my 60s, I decided to just stop cutting my hair and grew out a beard as well, after being pretty much clean-cut most of my life.

Two and a half years later, my grey hair is now over my shoulders and I've had to acquaint myself with hair ties and such. Some may call it vanity but I'm old enough not to care what people think anymore. I just let it flow.
