Is this the name he was given at birth, or did he change it upon conversion?
Since he was born in the US, and Jabbar was his birth name, you'd expect he was born into a Muslim family, and wouldn't need to convert.
There just seems to be a lot of unknowns at this point. I'm sure a curious press and an FBI keen on sharing information will fill in the blanks.
