I’m going out on a limb and say 3, 1 leftist and two Republicans.
Sotomayor may be replaced due to death or at least severe health conditions.
Thomas is getting to that age, which is a shame since he is a stalwart constitutional conservative vote.
Thomas and Alito both of whom are old. With luck, he’ll get to replace the Wide Latina too.
I predict the Supreme Court could be 7-2 in favour of the conservatives before Trump is done is his term.
Sotomayor may have no choice, for health reasons, to retire.
On a related note, I’ve read that Trump 2.0 will be able to appoint around 100 federal judges. That alone is a big deal.
👍🏻
Did you know that Mike Johnson is a Constitutional Lawyer? I think that's what I read in his bio.
but does it matter? It seems like these people can be so easily threatened/ paid off. They could have 9 “conservatives” and we’d still have unfettered immigration illegally.
Thomas and Alito are the two most conservative Justices on the court—more conservative than any of Trump’s choices. So replacing them would likely be steering the court to the left.

The wise latinx is lookin’ a bit green around the gills these days.
I still can’t believe the newest judge (Kejani?) was allowed to act in that PC propaganda live play. She should recuse herself from future cases if the topic is the same as her pet project. She receives special treatment, due to DEI concerns.
That would be nothing compared with what a president Harris would do.
Thomas will die on the Court. Ginny will wheel him around when that becomes necessary.
I hope Thomas just hand picks his replacement and Trump goes along with his suggestion. I trust him more than anyone else advising Trump on such matters
Trump the dealmaker. With a 6-3 SCOTUS lead Trump ‘offers’ the job to Hillary in return for smooth confirmation of the young conservative replacements. As SCOTUS Hillary’s only job will be to live until a Democrat returns to the WH.
You are correct, but it is customary for an exiting judge to give a strong recommendation to his/her replacement.
Usually these are ignored of course if the opposite party is in power, but I really think that both Alito and Thomas will have their replacement choices well considered by Trump this time.
At minimum 1 but the possibilities for more looks good.
The elderly conservative justices should step down and allow President Trump to put in younger conservative justices who will then be on the bench for decades.
Would Hillary play? I think not. Expose her and the rest of them even more.
That’s certainly the cowardly, RINO, loyal-opposition way to look at it.
Mike Johnson would be the left’s dream.
