Tariffs are taxes, sales taxes paid by the ultimate user of a tariffed product.
The big benefit of tariffs is that smart corporations will re-shore industry to the US, manufacture stuff here, employ Americans, and avoid those tariffs. That’s better for everyone. Income taxes and such provide no such benefit. Not all taxes are created equal.
