Certain 2024 election results in California took many by surprise.
The Golden State's residents, for example, rejected another term for progressive Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón, backed by billionaire George Soros.
They also overwhelmingly voted — at more than 70% — in favor of Proposition 36, the Homelessness, Drug Addiction and Theft Reduction Act, which seeks to undo portions of Proposition 47 from 2014 by increasing penalties for some crimes. The proposition, which took effect Dec. 18, will allow felony charges to be filed against those possessing certain drugs and those who commit thefts under $950. Additionally, people accused of those crimes could spend more time in jail.
In other words, the ballot measure aims to crack down on certain minor felonies that would not have been labeled misdemeanors and gone unpunished — or lightly punished — under Proposition 47.
When Prop 47 passed in 2014, it downgraded most thefts from felonies to misdemeanors if the amount stolen was under $950, "unless the defendant had prior convictions of murder, rape, certain sex offenses, or certain gun crimes."
Progressives criticized the measure as racist. The ACLU of Northern California described Prop 47 in a press release as "part of a broader conservative strategy in California and across the nation to roll back criminal justice reforms aimed at interrupting the cycle of mass incarceration of Black and Brown people."
Others believe the new bill will bring positive change to the state, especially in areas that have been grappling with violent crime for years.

They just ignore the people anyway.
How much did he make off of it, since he creates chaos for profit?
It will make no difference.
The DA’s will be understaffed and under budgeted so as to continue the anarchy....................
As usual for Commiefornia.
A little early to declare victory isn’t it?
“Progressives criticized the measure as racist.”
They really don’t get it, do they.
Trump needs to find out where Soros gets the $$billions to destroy our country.

Eli Lake of The Atlantic reported that George Soros, the billionaire investor who has publicly expressed hostility to Israel and Zionism, is, in fact, one of largest donors to the lefty Israeli lobby,
“J Street” ........even though J Street has declared, time and time again, that Soros was not a supporter.
Biden’s 2023 billion-dollar funding bill made George Soros very happy. He got everything he wanted. Another source of income for Soros, for his financing lefties in the US govt?
J Street Lobby Exhorts its Supporters
“On Friday, October 20th, 2023, the Biden Administration sent a Supplemental Funding Request to the Congress that contains key priorities for the American Jewish community:
Please urge your federal elected officials to take action by sending an email below or picking up the phone to call using the script at the end of this form. Your advocacy will help ensure Congress passes the Supplemental Budget Request, which includes the following:
<><>$14.3 Billion in Emergency assistance to Israel: This emergency assistance will bolster Israel’s ability to defend herself and replenish vital defense systems, including the Iron Dome and David’s Sling missile defense programs.
<><>Increased Funding for FEMA’s Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP): Jewish communities are in a state of elevated readiness and have already been forced to increase their security measure. FEMA’s Nonprofit “Security Grant Program” helps ensure the safety and security of Jewish and other faith-based community institutions. The increased funding included in Biden’s Supplemental Budget Request will help bolster our Jewish community’s capacity to protect itself at this challenging time.
<><>$61.4 Billion in Emergency Assistance to Ukraine: The J Street Lobby stands in solidarity with Ukraine and supports efforts to strengthen its democracy in the face of aggression. This funding will aid Ukraine’s efforts to safeguard its democracy and protect its citizens. Jewish Federations are actively engaged in supporting the Ukrainian people—including by resettling over 2,600 displaced Ukrainians across the United States—and we seek continued U.S. support for these critical efforts.”

J street Lobby Policy on the US-Israel “Special Relationship”
(J Street pocketed $750,000, that we know of, from George Soros).
J Street believes that maintaining a strong, vibrant US-Israel relationship is a core American interest. We want to see a secure, thriving Israel that is a healthy democracy, a national home for the Jewish people and a state for all its citizens that embodies the shared values that have long formed the heart of the special relationship between our two countries. We believe that American diplomatic leadership has an important role to play in helping to make this vision a reality, as does cooperation in (financing) Israel’s security, economic, technological, academic and civil society spheres.
WIKI-—Confidential IRS documents obtained by The Washington Times in 2010 showed that George Soros had been a donor to J Street since 2008. The approximately $750,000 from Soros and his family, together with donations from Hong Kong-based businesswoman amounted to about 15% of J Street’s funding in its early years.
In previous statements and on its web site J Street had seemed to deny receiving support from foreign interests and from Soros.
J Street henchman, Jeremy Ben-Ami, apologized for earlier “misleading” statements regarding funding from Soros. Ben-Ami also clarified that donors to 501(c)(4) organizations are promised confidentiality by law and challenged critics to make public the contributions from opposing organizations.
Victory is a thousand miles away here behind enemy lines, but it’s in the results of the ballot measures you can often detect a faint pulse of common sense among the electorate here. They rejected prop 6, which would have banned prison labor which the proponents likened to slavery. They rejected prop 32, which would have raised the minimum wage, and prop 33, which would have essentially facilitated the wide imposition of rent control
Here we take out victories where we can find them
Please don’t get me wrong. I see little signs of hope as well but as you said, “Victory is a thousand miles away...”
I'm sure the people of western North Carolina are thrilled that their tax dollars are being so generously redistributed.
And of course we're so grateful for the contributions of Ukrainian immigrants to the U.S., like those of the Vindman brothers.
.........we’re so grateful for the contributions of Ukrainian
immigrants to the US, like the Vindman brothers............
A generous bunch to be sure....../s.
