These undersea cables are not generally lying about all willy-nilly on the bottom. They are generally deepy entrenched. It ain’t easy to cut one accidentally with a fishing net or an anchor.

Finland probably did it themselves. We were told Russia blew up their own Nordstream line.

I smell the CIA.

[Assessment]

I don't.

This is Russian revenge for US-backed forces cutting the Nordstrom pipeline.

[/Assessment]

None of these facilities can be defended. It is too bad we cannot have nice things anymore. Neither can "they".

Civilization brings prosperity to everybody. It is great while it lasts. Too bad it is so fragile.

Another thread that becomes heavily anti-our side allies and friends in support of Russia.

Obviously Russia. They have been up to this crap for a long time, and of course, it is in their interest.

From 2015 :

US Navy is worried Russia planning to cut the undersea cables that carry 95% of internet traffic
Business Insider via Reuters ^ | 10/26/2015 | Peter Cooney

The presence of Russian submarines and spy ships near undersea cables carrying most global Internet communications has U.S. officials concerned that Russia could be planning to sever the lines in periods of conflict, the New York Times reported on Sunday.

The Times said there was no evidence of cable cutting but that the concerns reflected increased wariness among U.S. and allied officials over growing Russian military activity around the world.

The newspaper quoted naval commanders and intelligence officials as saying they were monitoring significantly greater Russian activity along the cables’ known routes from the North Sea to Northeast Asia and waters closer to the United States....

Russia’s ally Iran has been at it too, earlier this year:

Houthis knock out underwater cables linking Europe to Asia - report

The successful targeting of the four cables, which are believed to belong to the AAE-1, Seacom, EIG, and TGN systems, marks a serious disruption of communications between Europe and Asia.
Four underwater communications cables between Saudi Arabia and Djibouti have been struck out of commission in recent months, presumably as a result of attacks by Yemen’s Iranian-backed Houthi rebels, according to an exclusive report in the Israeli news site Globes.

The successful targeting of the four cables, which are believed to belong to the AAE-1, Seacom, EIG, and TGN systems, marks a serious disruption of communications between Europe and Asia.

Most of the immediate harm will be absorbed by the Gulf states and India, Globes said.

The AAE-1 cable connects East Asia to Europe via Egypt, connecting China to the West through countries such as Pakistan and Qatar....

China has bern up to it too. And not because of any pipeline.

All this horseshit about Russia being a victim is just that. Comeplete horseshit, just manipulative nonsense to play on stupid people’s sympathies like all the other groups that play the victim card while engaging in terrorism.

Snip, from early 2023:

On the other side of the world, Moscow’s new Chinese allies are showing the same kind of interest in the undersea cables that run to Taiwan. Two of those cables were recently cut by Chinese vessels. The Chinese appear to be billing the actions as “accidents”. There is a strong suspicion that the actions were a dry run for a much broader attack on communication with Taiwan.

On February 2, 2023, a Chinese fishing vessel sailing close to the Matsu Islands severed one of the two cables, which connect the islands with Taiwan proper. Six days later, a Chinese freighter cut the second cable. The Matsu Islands, which belong to Taiwan, are now left with rudimentary communications...

I am with you they want us to be at war with Russia before Trump gets in and they’re dry and everything. It is so disgusting. They should be tried for treason. Take down the CIA.

I’m sure I’ll probably get digitally beaten for this, but:

Would this action not fit under the category of “what goes around comes around”? That’s what it’s called in my next of the woods.

If fact, once gawd-only-knows-who took out Nordstream (eyeroll), weren’t there folks everywhere warning that this wasn’t a nice way to play war? Since when it comes to undersea cables and other utilities, the earth is one big glass house where stone throwing is a really bad idea.

Or is this another one we can chalk up to “We can do bad things cuz we’re the good guys”.

I’m tellin’ ya, this hubris is gonna get people killed, and its only a matter of time before everyone realizes whose been selling the “Pipe-full-of-fun-kits-Number 7” (pun intended).

Look it up.

Just My $0.02 (let the beatings of jimjohn begin)
- OUT.

This is payback for NATO and the US blowing up their pipeline.

I do not support Russia, but I find it ironic as hell, that Europe and the US play this game and act like its a one way street.

An Oil tanker is not fitted for offboard activities, nor with a cable cutting device. This was US PTB.
