My favorite Christmas Eve of my 61 years was in 1988 in a rehab center in Minneapolis.
I had gotten into some trouble and found myself in court ordered rehab, but this was a Christian organization, so on Christmas eve they had a team come in to minister.
The team consisted of around 8 elderly gentlemen who appeared to all be at least in their 80s with their oldest member being 103 who walked in unassisted.
These gentlemen had been ministering together for decades and I got the distinct feeling that they were not the frail old men that they appeared to be, but in the spiritual realm they were special ops Rambo badasses going into enemy territory to annihilate the enemy and rescue hostages.
The speaker preached from Acts 12:6 where Peter was freed from prison, asking us how many of us had been struck on the side and woken up to be miraculously freed from our own prison of sin.
The Holy Spirit was there and it was beautiful.
Merry Christmas one and all.
That’s a very nice story.
Have a good New Year.
