Definitely. The smooth side doesn't repel rays as well, if at all.
Sorry, it should be the dull side especially if you have the nonstick variety. This helps keep mind control from sticking to the cap.
But, but, they neglected to mention which side to place towards one’s head when fabricating a shield to help prevent aliens from taking control of our brains.

Categorically false if you’ve ever been camping and made a foil dinner.
If the shiny side is facing outward the food will take significantly longer to cook.
Dull side reflects less heat and lets the heat in and the shiny inside keeps the heat inside cooking the food.
I know that for a fact.
It’s not aliens you need to worry about (except, maybe the Reptilians that run around in human form). It’s the government you need the tinfoil hats for. (Agree with the other posters - shiny side out.)
