There’s been runaway food prices in America, too. I can name several products that are three times the price they were, two or three years ago.

Not a problem as long as you only buy cabbage and onions.

Last Saturday I paid $17.00 in a nondescript restaurant for a meatloaf lunch, plus an 18 percent gratuity. I declined the opportunity to tip 25 percent.
It makes me not want to eat out again.

Eggs were $5 this week. Thankfully, butter was on sale at Aldi.

Caviar, while far from being a staple food at almost 6,000 rubles (about $60) per kilo in December 2023, has shot up by over 50 percent this year to nearly 9,000 rubles per kilo. Could they have picked one single worse example? Caviar? $90 per kilo? Yes please, send a ton! I'll be rich tomorrow.

Russia doesn’t have price control. It is not unusual that certain items can climb ten times in price only to crash below the original price a few months later.
Zeepers probably are looking through it to find examples to scream about another end of Putin.
Normal people don’t gove a hug. If chicken is too expensive then they eat pork and vice versa.
Very few care about caviar.

Poor Zeepers. Have to have some sort of victory. Certainly aren't having any on the battlefield.
