He probably also supports the Monroe Doctrine, where other countries should be encouraged to develop US values.

Denmark and the EU might have something to say about that.

“What for?”

Because the earth is round. At the north pole it is actually right next to Russia. Russia has been taking over the arctic moving our way. It would be a strategic defensive position.

All I see is some lonesome tweet, it doesn’t even have a Trump tweet attached to prove the point.

I need to see something Trump actually said.

Geography. Greenland is strategically placed, with Norway to the southwest across a crucial expanse of ocean that for Russia is an essential route of naval and commercial access to the Arctic and Atlantic.

Thus bases on the east coast of Greenland could menace and keep Russia in check. Russian ships in the Arctic Ocean and the Greenland and Norwegian Seas, their crucial commercial port and naval base in Murmansk, and the entire arctic coast of Russia would have to deal with close observation in peacetime and potentially devastating attacks in wartime.

Although a reliable and useful member of NATO, Denmark (in commonwealth with a nominally independent Greenland) does not have the desire, strength, or resources to develop Greenland and carry that kind of weight against Russia. The aboriginal natives of Greenland also grumble about their American Inuit cousins in Alaska having greater prosperity and respect than what the parsimonious and less engaging Danes provide.

Is Trump serious? He is serious about reminding Putin that the US is not to be trifled with by boastful talk of asserting Russian military power and seizing oil and gas and other resources in the Arctic. American bases in Greenland are the stuff of nightmares for Putin -- and a potential bargaining chip for Trump even if nothing comes of buying Greenland.

In the years and decades to come, Trump and his team will be studied as masters of national security strategy and policy by reversing America's decline and making the world more peaceful and prosperous under renewed American leadership. MAGA is happening as we watch.

Greenland is home to a big chunk of our advanced early warning system at Pituffik Space Base, formerly Thule AFS.

**At heart, DJT is a real estate guy. Between Greenland and the talk of the Panama Canal and Canada as a state it’s obvious DJT would love to make the expansion of U.S. territory part of his legacy.**

Canada-Just call for Quebec independence. Quebeckers will follow. Watch everything fall in place.

FWIW… “FT Alphaville estimated a $1.1 trillion price for the territory. Its sum-of-the-parts analysis valued potential oil fields at $300 to 400 billion, rare-earth minerals at $500 to 700 billion, and real estate at $200 to $220 billion.”

Trump is playing Risk. Anyone who has played the board game Risk would recognize that Greenland and Panama are very strategic countries.

“The trolling, if that’s what it is, simply confirms the Russian narrative that the world needs a restored Russian expansionist empire and a Chinese empire to serve as a counterweight to American and EU imperialism.”

We already confirmed that in Ukraine, and the OTHER 80% of the world, starting with China, India and about 100 countries fully understand it. (our slave-states in Europe are only now starting to figure that out)
