Nonsense. Was this study financed by Soros or people like him?
I gotta look up “low inflammatory diet” , but likely won’t like what it entails, ie giving up nearly everything thst makes life worth living lol
Foods that are most inflammatory and should be avoided include:
• Refined carbohydrates (such as white bread and pastries)
• French fries and other fried foods
• Soda and other sugar-sweetened beverages
• Red meat (burgers, steaks) and processed meat (hot dogs, sausage)
• Margarine, shortening, and lard
It really doesn’t. I switched about 2 years ago, BP stabilized, A1C is steady, LDL cholesterol is 35 and all my GERD symptoms disappeared. After the initial cleansing phase (28 days) you just have to be mindful of how much of the lower pH foods you eat and in what combinations. I used the Acid Watcher Diet by Dr. Jonathan Aviv.
Do you live on twinkies and Coke?
A low inflammatory diet just means real food — meat, eggs, fish, butter, olive oil, veggies, fruits and real bread, not wonder bread smeared with sugar and seed oils.
If you make your own meals and not out of a box or at fast food restaurants , you’re probably eating no -inflammatory.
Good dementia preventer is daily mild aerobic exercise. I eat mostly junk diet, but still no dementia or heart attacks or diabetes at age 84. That 20 minutes exercise everyday must be my savior.
Saturated fat is not inflammatory. Fiber tends to be, but they count is as anti-inflammatory.
In essence, the standard American diet is the worst possible diet for many factors of health. Both Carnivore and Vegan are better for people. ANYTHING that departs from the SAD is better.
Red meat is NOT inflammatory. This BS needs to stop!
If red meat was inflammatory, people on the carnivore diet would be dropping like flies! They are not. In fact, their risk of dementia plummets - while eating mostly red meat.
Margarine is an issue. Lard and butter are not.
Who has the energy to make all meals from scratch every day?
I remember growing up we had a cook who toiled every day from 9 AM to 7 PM to prepare meals from scratch. In those days in my city, there were no readymade meals. Heck there was no refrigeration. In American life today, nobody can spend so many hours fixing meals from scratch. And few people can afford to hire a full time cook. Get with reality!
"Now son, Archer Daniels Midland pays us big money to promote this BS. And we've got to support our farmers, wouldn't you agree?" -- Every GOP farm state Senator.
“If you make your own meals and not out of a box or at fast food restaurants , you’re probably eating no -inflammatory.”
Excellent advice. I veer towards carnivore because I prefer lots of meat, but “is you make your own meals” if the common factor that unites things like vegan and carnivore.
I’ll add that if you mostly eat things people have eaten for the last 500 years, you’re probably OK. Lists of ingredients? THAT almost DEFINES “bad for you”!
“List-free food” is close to a definition of “good food”.
If you like meat/fish/chicken and a few veggies...it really is not hard...a slab of protein on the barbie and some veggies with clean “butter” including potatoes once in awhile. It is the junk food and microwave that’ll kill ya.
I have discovered oxalate foods are a problem for me...all those “green” veggies they tell you to eat. Bad juju for my colon.
Margarine is plastic!
Nice to have good genes isn't it.
At 65 inflammation crippled me. Heart, skin, joints, brain - you name it. I was hospitalized and drugged into a stupor.
I rejected the drugs. Now, at 75, I have it under control with strict dieting and exercise and enjoy clear skin, a clear mind and a pain free body. Doctors (Drug pushers) were no help at all.
Everything which follows is now suspect.
Which is tragic, considering that I agree with a resounding "DUH!"
The logical conclusion is that their use of Framingham data is intentional, a shot across the bow to protect the system even though 50 years of medical practice was based upon a fraud.
Genes were of no help. During my mid-50’s I had irregular heart beats, chest pain after eating a good meal with meat, was border line diabetic, blood pressure over 140/90, panic attacks in closed malls, fainting spells at work, hip joint pain, etc. I was not getting enough exercise with a full time job. So I quit the good job, and began playing golf full time. My golf progressed to 5 rounds of 18 every week weather permitting. So, I was walking 30 miles every week pushing my golf cart. After 18 months of this, every one of problems disappeared.
My exercise routine is far superior to any help from genes.
