I understand what you are saying, but the fight must be fought if we are to get a real & lasting change. That is how damaging this administration has been to this nation. Have faith. 🙂👍
nancy mace explained tonight that the short bill is a sham that spends exactly the same amount of money as the long bill, and that the only thing removed was boiler-plate authorization language ... Johnson was trying yet again to pull a fast one and got caught by 38 republicans paying attention ... johnson needs to go ...

No reason to rush a Bill through, and vote for that Bill just for the sake of passing a Bill, before you go home on Christmas break.
understand the logic, but they simply dont have the votes. What they wanna do is when you have 30 and 40 seat majorities. Next Congress is gonna be even slimmer. Gotta be smart about this stuff.
There must be other considerations..but for my part, here’s the first draft list of RINOs to primary.
My guess is so the Dems can’t use it to hold us hostage.
But they could only hold the Pubbies hostage if the spending was to increase.
That’s not quite true. If we’re still at a budget deficit, the debt will continue to grow. The only way to avoid that is to immediately balance the budget.
There is NO WAY that’s happening between now and 1/20. That was the job of DOGE to figure out. I’m not sure there’s even enough headroom in the budget to do it after setting aside entitlements, defense, and debt interest. We might have to grow the economy first to get revenues to overtake the deficit.
Musk needs to find that congressional slush fund and take it away from them.
> They didn’t like the debt ceiling extension.
Neither do I. The Dims have been salivating at making this happen so they can spend like drunken sailors. Why are WE lifting the debt ceiling? Is it to get Dim votes? Why is it there if not to allow more spending without consequence?
> They don’t trust themselves (congress and senate) to cut spending. Which is stupid and tells you what Trump is fighting against.
Then why lift the debt ceiling if not to allow more spending? Explain it to me like I’m 5.
> A debt ceiling extension is meaningless if spending is cut.
And a debt ceiling extension is **unnecessary** if spending is cut. So why include it?
We’re lifting the debt ceiling because we haven’t balanced the budget.
Until we balance the budget, THE DEBT WILL CONTINUE TO GROW.
That’s how dire the situation is.
> But if the DOGE boys were to begin to deliver on their promises, they wouldn’t be close to that ceiling.
Look I know Musk has a lot of fans and I like him, too.
However. I don’t like how he showboats around. Maybe he’s not intentionally trying to overshadow President Trump, but it sure seems like it.
This debt ceiling stuff smells suspiciously like his doing. It’s a Dim idea. Why do you need to lift the ceiling if you commit to reducing spending? Someone explain this to me. Is it so Dims will vote for it? That’s the only reason I can think of.
> We’re lifting the debt ceiling because we haven’t balanced the budget.
> Until we balance the budget, THE DEBT WILL CONTINUE TO GROW.
I don’t disagree with you. But we are getting a trifecta GOP federal govt (President, Senate, House), so we’d be able to balance the budget in January. With the help of DOGE crunching numbers, if in fact their charter is to radically cut spending as they’ve said. Right?
Can you hear yourself?
Take a step back and reread that statement.
The election was only six weeks ago. Trump ISN’T EVEN PRESIDENT YET.
Did you honestly believe DOGE would have identified everything to cut already? We’ll be lucky if they issue a report by spring. My bet is on summer.
Oh, yeah, and there is zero chance BIDEN will sign it, regardless. None of this happens until Trump is sworn in.
There’s a difference between lifting the ceiling once—and suspending the ceiling altogether for two years.
Andrew Clyde fits that description.
Pig trough feeders fiscally conservative?
Yeah right.
