Thirty-eight House Republican lawmakers voted against the President-elect Trump-backed government spending bill that failed to clear the lower chamber with just more than a day before the shutdown.

These GOP representatives voted Thursday against the measure that would have prevented a government shutdown and suspended the debt limit:

The bill, which Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) presented just a few hours before it was voted on, failed with a 174-235-1 vote. It did not reach the two-thirds margin necessary to pass as it was brought under the suspension of the rules.

I have heard there were hardly any spending cuts. Bad stuff was taken out.

Do not know if this is true.

But if the DOGE boys were to begin to deliver on their promises, they wouldn’t be close to that ceiling.

Need to get all the RINOs listed to Trump can primary them all.

Even the ‘rats didn’t vote for it [except 2?]

Really??

Why would you recommend a no vote on something based on the Democrats voting no on that bill?

We didn’t put Trump in for two years of unlimited debit ceiling extensions, so it should have been voted down.

This is exactly why our government hates sites like this. 20 years back getting that information would have not been easy. Now it is available at the end of the vote. No longer can they make back room deals without our knowledge. 40 per cent pay raise indeed. Learn to code.

Some of these people are very solid conservatives.

Well, V1 was the pits.V2 was much better. V3 could go either way, but there will be a new Congress on Jan3.

True. But in that new Congress, the GOP margin in the House will be even smaller than it is now.
