It’s safe to say Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) and NCAA President Charlie Baker won’t be exchanging Christmas cards any time soon. Baker, the infamous collegiate sports boss who’s allowed female athletes to be tormented by biological men for his entire tenure, flew to D.C. for what he thought would be a congressional hearing about sports betting. Instead, it turned into an explosive takedown of the NCAA’s wildly unpopular trans policy.
From the opening gavel, there was no love lost for Baker, who’s presided over one of the most contentious chapters in college sports history.

Who really cares about this? It is nothing more then a side show to distract from all of our money they are squandering.
BAKER: … Because we’re a national governing body and we follow federal law.
KENNEDY: That’s what you’re there for. Why don’t you stand up and say in front of God and country, ‘Federal law is wrong, and the NCAA believes in fair competition’? … Why don’t you go to Amazon and buy a spine online and take a stand?
Kennedy isn't wrong. But he isn't right either. It's the federal government making bad decisions. Any organization that goes against federal law is going to be sued. And they will lose. Courts have decided this already -- 5 times!! But Kennedy says the federal government is wrong, and it's up to Baker to fix the federal government by trying to get his organization sued. That's just stupid.
Congress needs to pass a law that will be recognized by the federal courts.
Baker is probably a jerk, and probably should have done more to promote fairness. But the people in congress (like Kennedy) have the big role to play here.
If I cared about the NCAA I would be concerned.
That man Baker was pitiful. He is not going to fare too well when he goes up against President Trump with his arguments.
Surely the money behind the NCAA must be looking for an exit ramp.
I’ll bet Amazon is working on getting a line of spines for sale. They sell everything else. They’ll be Chinese spines however.
NCAA is a cabal.
Transgender is the most critical issue of our time.
That sounds crazy—but I will explain.
This is an issue where the Democrats have chosen to defend a wildly unpopular set of issues. These issues are particularly unpopular with critical elements of their base, hispanics and blacks.
The Democrats are stuck with defending insane policies—making them dead to much of the American population.
We need the Democrats to double down on the insanity—which means we have to force them to face the issue—over and over and over again...
Think about what we can do with budget and other issues once the Democrat Party is toast.

Choose your battlefield.
Shape the battlefield.
Attack and annihilate the enemy.
(Then you can work on economic policy.)
Dissolve the NCAA and start over with straight administrators.

And often organizations that support federal law get sued. Baker knew that when he signed on for the job.
But according to Senator Hawley federal law supports women athletes; and the 5 lower court opinions have not settled the issue except in the minds of liberals who have announced, as they always do, “we won.”
The crazy people have not won at the Supreme Court level and it is unlikely they will based on the court's current makeup.
But you are right too; the Congress should come down on perversion like a ton of bricks.
But because sanity does not have 60 votes in the Senate that will be difficult.
A workaround will be needed. What we don't need is surrender.
Women need to shut this sht down. Do not participate. Be very vocal about it. If the NCAA tells you to fend for yourselves, fend for yourself.

And then send the link to elected republicans. This is the best they got, berating some official and producing YouTube videos. I am certain when these guys vote for the next continuing resolution, there will be plenty of funding for the mental illness lobby.

It is about time the Republican Party starting playing chess instead of checkers.
Leftists control all major US institutions.

It is being dissolved, the NCAA just doesn’t know yet. The super conferences are calling the shots.
This is a little off topic but the thought just popped into my brain; how funny would it be to get a DIE black female general or admiral in front of a Senate committee and ask them, “In this era of equal opportunity, why weren’t there any females on the field at the Army Navy football game last weekend?” I bet you would see heads exploding all over the place.
And make a national issue of it!
Start go fund me sites to pay for portable women's locker rooms; purchase worn-out FEMA trailers for that purpose and pull them onto campus with old farm tractors.
Hold bake sales! Get on every pod cast! Dominate the news with the unfairness of it all.
Make the democrat party beg for mercy.
You are correct of course. Baker may be a puke but let him go against what is federal law and see what happens. NCAA will be sued to oblivion. This government is dead wrong and stays that way. The mess has been made and it will take moving heaven and earth to ever correct it. The hope we have had is only temporal. I have my doubt how much congress will let Trump actually accomplish. We don’t need a revival. What we need is a freaking revolution. A big one.
