Please tell me I’m not the only one who has Ennio Morricone CDs.
I saw a VERY young Eli Wallach in San Francisco Beat. Detective show. This one was a movie. He was always a good bad guy.
Because Ennio has been gone four years.
Love Eli and Clint but my heart belongs to Lee Van Cleef.
Angel eyes.
:D
I have watched some of the corniest movies ever made just because Lee was in them.
When The Octagon was in the theater, I went 3 times alone to watch it.
:D
/Sabata rides!
My guess may be that too composers these days have little experience with symphonies and orchestras and listen too much to popular music…? Or rely upon what amounts to a mix-tape of past works and call it a “soundtrack?”
They compose by themselves or with a small group in a studio with electronic equipment first and maybe bring in musicians to play needed parts. IOW, it may be too difficult or expensive to translate themes and motifs into a larger score that needs the enlistment of an orchestra?
…Although Ennio Morricone and Danny Elfman did get their starts by composing popular music. So that probably wrecks my hypothesis. JM.02
I have some of Ennio’s spaghetti western music. But that’s all.
I’ve seen that video before and they did Ecstasy of Gold as well.
The lady that did the “wah-wah-waaah” parts and the soprano were perfect!
Great stuff!
Beat me to it, but yes!
Good enough!
I have it all loaded in my iPods and one day on the Harley, The Ecstasy of Gold just happened to come up on my stereo as I pulled up to a four way stop in town.
It was hilarious and the other drivers all “ got it”.
Lots of suspicious glances at each other sitting there for at least 3 minutes
Once in a lifetime cool thing.
;D
Link to that is ^ up there^.
I have the records! Bought in the 1960s! All in perfect shape no problems!
Then I lent them to my sister.
When I got them back, they sounded like a breakfast cereal! “Snap, crackle, POP!” amidst all that music.
Jan 26, 2018 is when this song hit utube.
Aaaaaack!!!!
