I hope Trump invests billions into asylums and mental health treatment. We absolutely need to remove many people who live among us to asylums and try to help others with counseling and not just pharmaceuticals.

Absolutely agree. California was building mental hospitals within a couple years of hundreds of thousands of people arriving for the gold rush. We need to do it again.
Counseling doesn’t work on schizophrenics an bipolars. Their brains are a bubble off plumb and talk isn’t going to fix it.
I disagree with the original post on this thread. The poster acts as if putting a stunted mutant in a mental hospital or putting him back on the street were the only two options. How about putting him on trial and convicting him of actual crimes first? THEN work out the details about whether he serves time in prison or a mental hospital.

Doing this is a state matter and it is illegal in almost all states. Trump has nothing to do with it. There has never been a Federal mental health detention system.
