Mentalist “The Amazing Kreskin” (born George Kresge Jr.), also known as “Kreskin,” has died.

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of The Amazing Kreskin, born George Kresge, at the age of 89.

I always watched Carson but I had forgotten about Amazing. Well, that was a long time ago.

I know Carson had a magician on who debunked Geller. Either Randi or Kreskin, I am not sure which one.

I met the man in 2008, at a corporate meet and greet. I was expecting someone who was at least somewhat eccentric, but he was a total ordinary guy. We hit it off, as we were both enthusiasts of famous music from the movies. I listened to him intently for 20 minutes as he went on about his favorite music from the thirties and forties. His manager had us pose for a picture.

I saw Kreskin perform his live act at the University of Florida in 1978. His "shtick" was to have the audience hide his paycheck somewhere in the auditorium (in this case the Florida Gym) and then he will find it at the end of the show.

It was Randi. Carson met with him prior to Uri appearing. Carson & his staff kept control of the spoons, containers etc. & Uri claimed he didn’t feel up to it. It’s on YouTube,

He was the BEST practitioner of Hellstromism I’ve ever seen. He could read muscle tension in people so well it was scary (and completely impressive). I met him a few times and he was always “on”: a bit hyper, always engaging, approachable, and way to kind to a newbie. Cheers, Amazing, and thanks.
