The main story concerns a serial killer that kidnaps people, makes them look like famous serial killers that have already been caught, and then murders them in the same way the original serials killers were killed, on the birthday of that particular serial killer>

What struck me about the program was the murderer was operating with the knowledge of the well-connected people of Washington, DC - politicians, doctors, etc. This seemed to me to be somewhat similar to what was labeled as Pizza-Gate, and it reinforced what I have been thinking about for some time - that people connected with Hollywood and the political elite, know the evil that is going on, and make shows and movies either bragging about it or trying to tell the public about what is happening.

What say fellow Freepers?

I am seriously doubting your taste in entertainment. lol
I made it to about the 10 minute mark of the 1st episode all the while restraining my urge to hurl something at the tv. I get enough whitey bad by listening to the democrats and the MSM. I don’t need it in my entertainment.

Alex Cross. It’s based on a bunch of novels. Yes, I have watched a bunch of them because my husband likes reading the novels. The show is pretty good, the only bad part is the bad guy doesn’t get caught soon enough. Unlike in Bluebloods, where the bad guy gets caught by the end of the hour, you have to go through hours of murder and mayhem to get the bad guy caught and then there is a copycat or a new bad guy.

The books have been decent for decades. There have been several movies based on them.

Like the Reacher novels and some other decent books…they don’t always translate well. It’s often difficult to match one’s imagination on the screen, large or small.

I seriously wonder what most people on here do for entertainment. It seems nothing can be enjoyed just for the sake of it and must immediately be panned for…reasons.

I watched it. The first episode was slow and put me to sleep by the time it ended. I almost gave up but watched the 2nd and the pace picked up it got better.

I could have done without all of the BLM police protest crap. But as it turned out, it was a bunch of rich white liberals that wwre involved in the murders

Actually, it wasn’t that bad - if you like the super-sleuth genre. Two things I did not like is that it is filmed mostly in darkness, making it hard for me to see. The second thing - which is standard for this type of genre - is that you have this super-sleuth who is correct in his deductions all the time and yet he gets nothing but grief and very little support from his superiors.

I guess I do not properly post my main premise in my posts. What I was trying to say was that this story somewhat mirrors the pizza gate story from a couple years back, and that more people know there is truth to that story than is let on.

Just ask FYI: Cross is a black man in the novels.

Having enjoyed the previous Alex Cross adaptations starring Morgan Freeman and Tyler Perry, my wife and I looked forward to this. Unfortunately, apart from enduring a woke tone (institutional racism) that we hoped might diminish over time, the storyline was just too damned dark for us to want to stay with it beyond the first episode-and-a-half.

Sounds like a liberal left remake of Mayberry.

The OP asked for opinions. OP got opinions. Lemme guess. You're the type of person that demands monologue? Not dialogue?

You're on the wrong thread.

I read a number of the books but haven’t watched any of the movies. I used to read a lot of James Patterson’s books, but he became too woke for my tastes...

We have the same issue with “Lioness” - aside from the “woman beats the creep out of man twice her size” ridiculousness, it’s just too dark (tortured souls getting literally tortured as “training”.

alex cross is a black cop who spends too much time involved with family matters that get in the way of the story. Alex Cross is a character created to make women buy the books about him

Alex Cross is a monetary success and literary failure
