Former US president Bill Clinton on Wednesday said young people in America today "can't believe" that late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat walked away from a Palestinian state during peace negotiations with Israel under his mediation as president...
"All [young people in America] know that a lot more Palestinians have been killed than Israelis. And I tell them what Arafat walked away from, and they, like, can't believe it," said the former commander-in-chief.
Arafat "walked away from a Palestinian state, with a capital in East Jerusalem, 96% of the West Bank, 4% of Israel to make up for the 4% [of the West Bank to be annexed for Israeli settlements]," Clinton elaborated, repeating an account of the Oslo peace negotiations, to which the ex-president has returned repeatedly in recent interviews and remarks...
... "You walk away from these once in a lifetime peace opportunities, and you can't complain twenty-five years later when the doors weren't all still open, and all the possibilities weren't still there. You can't do it," Clinton said....

There was more money in The Struggle
Bill and Hillary were 1960s radicals who star struck groupies of their revolutionary idols like Arafat , Mao and Fidel Castro
That and Arafat didn’t want to end up like Anwar Sadat who made a peace deal with Israel and ended up dead a short time later.
I believe one of the people involved in the assassination of Sadat ended up being the #2 in Al Qaeda Ayman Al Zawahiri...
Didn’t Hitlery give Arafat a kiss on his cheek causing quite a hub bub?
That would have been a deal killer for me too!
Yasser Arafat was a committed Islamic terrorist
Dave Hunt (RIP) said that Arafat invited the Pope to come to the West Bank “to celebrate our Jesus Christ” (don’t remember which year)
Dave then noted that Arafat had ALWAYS claimed that Jesus was a Palestinian freedom fighter against the Jews.
The Gospel according to Yasser Arafat...🙄🙄🙄

Bethlehem greets the Pope
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/686364.stm
Pope John Paul II has flown into the Palestinian town of Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus Christ, as he continues his tour of the Holy Land.
On arrival, the pontiff was greeted by Palestinian President Yasser Arafat and given a bowl of earth which he kissed, an act seen by Palestinians as a papal seal for their aspirations for statehood.
...
Earlier, he sent a telegram to Mr Arafat, saying: “In eager anticipation of my visit to Bethlehem and the Palestinian territories I ask Almighty God to bless the Palestinian people and to strengthen in all the peoples of the Middle East the resolve to bring about a just and stable peace in the region.”

At the refugee camp of Dheisheh, the Pope will visit a memorial honouring refugees killed in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict

The Vatican, which only recognised the state of Israel in 1994, does not recognise its claims over east Jerusalem, which the Jewish state captured and annexed in 1967.
BBC of course
Of course he did.
How do you think all those tunnels got dug?
It took decades to build and this time, they are NOT coming back.
Yasser had over 1B of USA taxpayer money in his Swiss Bank account.
“There was more money in The Struggle”
Yes, victimhood pays rather well. From what I remember, Arafat had quite a stash in France. And he wasn’t the only one.
They’ve been quite good at smashing the pinatas of the west.
I bet Yassir kept the status quo just for the Tiger and Hyena game he was famous for.
But eventually they got one and look what it turned out to be.
Arafat was a committed pederast and had a stable of boys on the side. He died of AIDS, that miserable filthy terrorist.
You always need to be at war with EastAsia
Leftists never want to end a war.
“ There was more money in The Struggle”
Indeed. Leftism is not about results. It’s about ‘The Struggle’. That’s why you can never placate leftists by acceding to their demands. Doing so would mean The Struggle has ended, which is not allowed, so they will immediately reframe their demands so The Struggle can continue. The Struggle is where money and power are.
Arafat’s rejection was one among many. When I read Charles Krauthammer’s article that the Palestinians do not ever want peace with Israel, I decided I was interested enough in the subject of Middle East peace to not just accept his premise. I wanted to see if I could actually confirm his was a reasonable assertion. The final result was a 2,500-word essay with about 30 links covering 90 years of intransigence.
I think I remember that Arafat then started an Intifata.
The Palestinians don’t want peace with Israel, if they ever make a peace deal with Israel, the PLO, Hamas or whoever, would have to actually govern and explain where all the money went and why the people are living in poverty, while the governing class has luxury accommodations in Qatar.
It’s too easy to blame the Jews than to actually bring peace to the Palestinians.
Later on and through his presidency, Bill & Hill remained staunch proponents of the Third Way - modernized communism.
When the Fat Arab died, they found many, many 5 gal buckets of his waste in his trailer.
