I hope they show Led Zeppelin when they were country and rock and roll in the 1950s.

Check it out, you will be amused.

I was just about to post this lol.

I wasn't just amused - "Whole Lotta Love" as a 50s rocker is actually pretty catchy lol.

Thank you so much for posting that link. I had no idea. LZII was one of the albums that, back in the day, I played until the black vinyl was worn white. This transformation to 50's rockabilly is not just amusing, it's really astonishing.

Led Zeppelin was a truly revolutionary band, and music was never the same after them. What struck me on hearing this video was that only 10 years separated early rock and LedZepII, compared to the 5 decades their music has been played..

In 1969 I hitchhiked back to Houston from LA with the first Led Zeppelin album and it was very popular when people were hearing it for the first time, which was everyone that I played it for.

One of those near misses of life from around 1970 was going into a tiny little bar on the outer edge of downtown Houston one night and finding out that Led Zeppelin or a couple of them had been in the bar the night before and had decided to get up on the little stage in the bar and play a little while drinking, I was a huge fan and really missed out on that, this wasn’t a nightclub or a large bar, it was just a cozy little hippie dive bar but back then music was closer to the people and stuff like that wasn’t unusual.

If I could go back in time, this is one group I would absolutely love to see live.

I’ll be buying my IMAX tickets ASAP!!

Good thread for "favorite Led Zep album"

Always partial to III.
"Since I've Been Loving You" is probably the last long, traditional blues number they did.

I grew up with the Beatles & the British invasion.

I was never a LZ fan although I loved & owned “LZ IV” - especially “Black Dog” named after a stray dog that wandered in & out of the studio during those sessions.

That said...

I really got into a British invasion band - The Yardbirds - and their revolutionary guitar sounds. Not surprising, the guitarists from that group were...

Eric Clapton
Jimmy Page
Jeff Beck (the best of that trio)

Exciting. Well worth the 2-hour drive to go see my 2nd IMAX film in 20 years (regal ‘imax’ is NOT IMAX).

I have heard a couple of new LZ releases on Sirius XM, probably the Vinyl channel. I think both of them were demos of songs you would recognize.

I was introduced to Led Zeppelin, along with Pink Floyd, by my little sister.

I’ve been to two IMAX movies in my life, and I’ll never be to another. The first was at Disney World, and fortunately was quite short. It was a full 360 degree surround, so everyone had to stand and turn in all directions. At least there were hand holds for all directions of view, but that also meant that I had to stand the whole time, and was blocked from leaving. At least I didn’t fall over.

The second was at an AMAX theater, so at least the audience could sit in chairs. The sound was so loud that it was too uncomfortable to endure. I left after about 15 minutes and sat in the lobby until the rest of our group came out. Even in the lobby, the sound was so loud that I regularly went outside in the heat until that became unbearable, too. Never again, regardless of the content of the film.
