Liberalism seems to have an irrational animus against Christianity. Consider these two stories highlighted in the last week by conservative Christian blogger Rod Dreher.
Item 1: In a widely discussed essay in Slate, author Brian Palmer writes about the prevalence of missionary doctors and nurses in Africa and their crucial role in treating those suffering from Ebola. Palmer tries to be fair-minded, but he nonetheless expresses "ambivalence," "suspicion," and "visceral discomfort" about the fact that these men and women are motivated to make "long-term commitments to address the health problems of poor Africans," to "risk their lives," and to accept poor compensation (and sometimes none at all) because of their Christian faith.

Born and raised Catholic, John Paul II, great Pope, Francis ugh.
Flame away.
Morality. Morality restricts a person in enjoying their life any way they want.
As Christians, our focus is on the long-term benefits of our children, but liberals have no such concern.
They aren’t liberals, they’re leftists.
“Why do so many liberals despise Christianity?”
Because they have joined Satan’s Army?
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
They have for over 200 years, since Voltaire and later Shelley. Next question.
“The Week” magazine is as leftist as they come.
The leftist’s attitude toward God is that of Lucifer... non serviam (”I will not serve”).
demon possession... we’re living in a lawless society...
I think a lot of them don’t really know Christianity.
Leftists policies are simply various forms of theft. And adultery. And covetousness. Of course they hate Christianity.
Opposites, the good and the bad.
What happened to a liberalism of skepticism, modesty, humility, and openness to conflicting notions of the highest good?
What happened to a liberalism of pluralism that recognizes that when people are allowed to search for truth in freedom, they are liable to seek and find it in a multitude of values, beliefs, and traditions?
What happened to a liberalism that sees this diversity as one of the finest flowers of a free society rather than a threat to the liberal democratic order?
Liberals want unlimited power to impose their sick ideas of liberty and "social justice," which (unfortunately) collectivizes accountability to the point of non-existence.
Envisioning one-self wielding unlimited power without accountability may be fun, but it ends up as a system that empowers only those at the top of a burning heap.
It’s about control. Religion gets in the way.
I think that’s what we used to call ‘Classical Liberalism’.
Because most libs still have a conscience and they are trying to kill it but the Hound of Heaven will not abate his love for his creation.
(Liberalism seems to have an irrational animus against Christianity)
Yes. Godless and operating under the spirit of antichrist.
It explains everything that they do.
And every “cause” they support like abortion, homosexual marriage and the “transgender” lie.
because it differentiates between Right and Wrong, which is a direct assault on liberalism’s do as you like propaganda.
They are secularist due to their science, and they scoff at the idea of God, which is like a fairy tale for stupid people.
