Since my wife is out of town and I am alone, I wanted to share this with someone. Opened a bottle of 18 year old. Just a sip in celebration.

I’ve made 1,000 percent since October 2023 on FET, SOL and 500 percent on AVAX.

The 100 percent ones aren’t worth mentioning.

No, altcoins are not a strategic long term investment.

The money I made from altcoins is now in long term investments :)

Of course I’m leaving out 2021, when I got DESTROYED in crypto by greed. :)

But this year washed it and then some.

In the end, you’re doing things the smart way but you don’t need me to tell you.

I missed the peak of the last bull market and was left bagholding. I watched as my investment declined about 75% in value. Now I’m back in positive territory and the bull market is just beginning. It will have tied up my money for 3-4 years but in the end, I’m going to get a nice return.

“Alas, some of us are still standing in the station...”

When I was deciding on Bitcoin, I decided to go with NVidia instead. I’m playing with retirement funds and wanted to stay relatively safe. As volatile as NVidia is, it isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

On a good note, my 30 year old son is celebrating Bitcoin going to 100k. He casually mentioned to me how far from the ocean do me and my lovely want to live.

I’m in a similar position. I had that choice, only it was AMD then selling at $9/share. I bought AMD and am still holding it.

Count me in! Broke open a bottle of absinthe to celebrate. Cheers, folks!

Ugh. That and Ouzo.

Used to drink it just to show my son in law I was tougher than him. (I was.)

Btw is the best performing asset over the past 12 years

It gains value through magic. It's upside potential is unlimited, at least until the world runs out of fools.

How ‘bout grappa? That stuff could strip paint.

My son keeps reminding me of that. “Dad, you should have…”

Never got into this because I never understood it. But in the interest of diversification I bought a tiny amount of FBTC just for fun, up over 40% in less than one year. It will never make me rich, but it seems to be a nice portfolio add.

The key is to keep sliding a few chips off the table, pay the taxes, pay off debt, and roll the rest into something else.

Haven't tried it. Never heard of it. I'll see if I can find some. Son in law and daughter moved away a few years ago, so I don't have anyone around to challenge my drinking ability, but maybe I can find someone who would be willing to go toe to toe with me drinking grappa.

:)

I applaud all of you who took a risk on this stuff and had it pay off for you. I could have bought it back when it was around $50.00 per, but the fundamentals looked to me then the same as they look to me now.

Other similar crypto-currencies came out subsequently, and who could say which one of these magic currencies would succeed and which would fail?

Congratulations to all who have ridden this thing successfully! :)

It is simply a digital asset. I don't see it as a currency at all.

Assets only have the value others assign to it by providing a market of buyers.

As an asset it goes through cycles. I hope for a correction soon.

I only see two choices. Trade it short term, or buy and hold for a very long time into the future.

The hype and FOMO is huge right now, but that will change.

I still don't rule out that BTC was a CIA creation...

Fundamentals….you said fundamentals. LOL. There ARE no fundamentals with this.

Seriously, I took a flyer with $2800 I had laying around. I bought it one day for $110 apiece, and it dropped to under $100 the next day. I sold them. Then a week or so later I bought them back at $88…and just let them alone.

I never expected it to go this high.

In my “real life” I never talk about this with my friends because they would think I was nuts.

It makes going into retirement a little easier.

I was lucky and shrewd. That hasn’t happened a lot, so I recognize it and I am grateful.

It’s an Italian wine derivative. It’s like Ouzo. Burns like hell going down.

Don’t buy a lot of it….
