A 72-year-old American man traveling on a Princess Cruise ship mysteriously vanished from the boat, prompting officials to believe he fell overboard at some point during the five-day voyage around Mexico.
Authorities launched a search for the passenger after the Ruby Princess docked in San Francisco just before 7 a.m. Monday and crews realized the passenger was nowhere to be found onboard, the cruise line said.
The man, who hasn’t been identified publicly, was traveling alone and is feared dead. “Princess worked throughout the day with local authorities. CCTV footage has also been extensively reviewed and the ship was searched thoroughly several times without success,” a spokesperson for the cruise line told The Post.

I don’t know. Do cruise liners suddenly lurch in a leaning fashion?
I ask because I’ve never been on a cruise before. I’ve been told that cruises can be nice.
They would have done a shipwide search. Unless he ended up in a quarters of another guest, they’ve ascertained that he’s not on the ship.
I think they also take roll call when leaving or getting on the ship.
Maybe he’s faking his death.
He could be in another passenger’s room?
Could be....hopefully, not dead....in the room.
I imagine this all started when they were clearing all the passengers on arrival back in port.
They wouldn’t go public with this if they hadn’t at least checked his room.
Sounds like a halfway decent suicide plan.
We watch the series, “Cruise Ship Murders” (on Freevee, IIRC). People traveling alone do not fare well, plus, there’s nobody to miss them until sometimes days too late.
The weekend thing is that the issue is either nefarious (theft and murder) or suicide. It’s practically impossible to accidentally fall overboard with the railings at the height they’re required to be.
I’m surprised the don’t have outboard laser beams to react to a man overboard event.
My shitty garage door opener does.
Or suicide. Bad health. 72 could be, or passed out and fell.
On the Epstein list?
He could be faking his death by hiding in the belly of a shark.
I remember on Love Boat, there was this old prankster that faked falling off the boat to scare his family.

All cabins are empties at the end of the cruise.
Monitored electronically with photo verification.
For those that don’t know, every passenger (and perhaps even crew members) have what is called a MEDALLION. It is tracking device that shows where you are at all time.
There are even screens near the elevator where you can do a search for your traveling companions, or you can order something and they will bring it to where ever you are.
You need this device to open you cabin door so you must have it when you leave your cabin.
They know where he was up and until he took off the medallion or went overboard.
Have not seen that and doubt it’s true.
You may be referring to a totalitarian surveillance cruise somewhere.
Reminds me of a story on Alfred Hitchcock Presents I saw way back in 1958. Always stuck with me.
