A congressman has condemned internet trolls currently gloating over the assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
'Seems like leftists opposed to killing terrorists in the Middle East support killing CEOs in Midtown Manhattan,' wrote Representative Dean Phillips after Wednesday's murder outside a Hilton hotel in NYC.
Phillips, a Democrat who represents 50 year-old Thompson's home district in Minnesota, spoke as online ghouls rejoiced in the cold-blooded execution of the healthcare chief.
Among them were one tweeter who wrote: 'Brian Thompson ran a company based off exploiting people during the most vulnerable times in their life.
'I'm not sad he's dead.'
Another shared a gif of a pastor praising Jesus, writing: 'CEOs of predatory corporations getting popped, turn this up. Peace out, Brian Thompson.'
Bluesky user Templin Jay wrote: 'I’m not condoning murder but if they’re gonna kill people, I can’t object too strenuously to them choosing someone who made his fortune making healthcare worse and more expensive.
'Cæsar had his Brutus, Charles the First his Cromwell, and Brian Thompson, some guy in a ski mask. If this be treason…'
Bluesky user Leslie Rising wrote, 'blue cross next,' referencing another of the country's health care companies.
Others offered less tasteless criticism of Thompson's murder while accusing United Healthcare of 'killing tens of thousands of Americans every year by denying them health coverage.'
The rapid criticism of Thompson following his 6:45am shooting quickly sparked widespread condemnation.

How did United Health Care make healthcare worse? The lefties would prefer that nobody have health insurance>
His wife was quoted in another article as saying he had been receiving threats.
Also, someone mentioned the company had been hacked or had some cybersecurity incident back in February.
I wonder if there was an extortion attempt based on information acquired by the hackers?
My mother is on United Healthcare. Other than coverage going down, and premiums going up every year (industry wide), I have had no problems with their service during her current cancer fight.
Anyone rejoicing over the death the death of another person is sick. Very sick.
“...Last year the DoJ launched a probe into whether the nation’s biggest insurer, led by Thompson, was unfairly restricting competitors and running a monopoly.
The DoJ then filed a lawsuit in October naming Thompson and other executives, accusing the CEO of failing to tell investors about the federal probe before he unloaded over 31 percent of his stock, taking in $15.1 million in proceeds.
In legal documents, investigators said that Thompson and other company execs sold over $117 million worth of UnitedHealth common stock during the four-month period when insiders knew about the federal antitrust investigation but the public did not....”
Not necessarily “happy” but certainly not mourning his death.
The primary purpose of Obamacare was to force private insurance companies to pay for abortions.
Americans often have the best government money can buy.
‘nyuck, nyuck, nyuck, nyuck ..’
God loved him, just as much as each and everyone else, good and bad.
Nobody should kill like this.
