WASHINGTON, Wednesday, Nov. 30.

Richmond papers of Monday, the 28th, have been received here to-day. They preserve their accustomed reticence in regard to operations in Georgia, in execution of their avowed purpose of communicating no information whatever in regard to what is there going on. The tone of their editorials is, however, as boastful as usual. The following are the only items of interest which they contain:

WHERE SHERMAN IS NOT.

We do not intend to inform the Yankee newspapers where SHERMAN now is; but we feel no hesitation in assuring them that he is not in Charleston or Savannah, or either in Macon or Augusta, and that not one of these cities has even been threatened by his forces. We can tell them, likewise, that his march has been even more leisurely than he anticipated; and that so far from accomplishing the modest fifteen miles a day, provided for in his orders, he has not attained much more on an average than the half of that rate. It is now fifteen days since he left Atlanta. In a week he was to be in possession of Macon, and in twelve days of Augusta, and in a few days more of some other important point. But where is he now? We leave it to the Yankee papers to guess, supplying them only with the information that he has not found sweet potatoes very abundant in Georgia, and that hog and hominy have not been served up for the entertainment of his bedeviled troops.
