A Texas daycare worker has been arrested after security footage allegedly revealed her to be carrying out a horrifying pattern of abuse against several toddlers.
Catherine Guziejka, 44, is accused of physically assaulting a total of six two-year-old children more than 100 times over the course of several months.
She faces six counts of injury to a child with the intent to cause bodily harm,
The alleged abuse at Punkin' Doodles Day Care in Lindale, Texas, 200 miles north of Houston, has been described by authorities as 'calculated and deliberate'.
It was only uncovered after a daycare employee reviewed security camera video last month and discovered the alarming behavior.
The footage sees Guziejka kicking a defenseless two-year-old boy in his lower back as he lay on the floor.
Shocked by what she saw, the unnamed employee told the boy's father, who immediately contacted the Smith County Sheriff's Office.
What investigators discovered next was even more disturbing. Hours of security footage allegedly showed Guziejka targeting toddlers in a systematic campaign of cruelty.
She was seen kicking children in the back, standing on their tiny hands, pulling them from their beds while they were napping and dragging another by their arms to a changing table.
In several instances, Guziejka allegedly forced children to stare at a wall instead of a television while aggressively holding their heads down during diaper changes.
Guziejka had been employed at the daycare since September 2023 with the abuse occurring between July and October.
She was fired immediately after the assaults came to light after Melanie Dawn Law, who owned Punkin' Doodles Day Care, reviewed the footage.

Czech stop is about 60 miles south of Dallas. When I saw lindale mentioned, why say 200north of Houston? It’s abut 100miles east of Dallas.
To me, this is a “...and throw the key away” offense.
Yup. I stayed home and raised ours.
I had worked up until we got married and moved. Then I finished up my degree and started a family. I was more than
happy to leave the rat race and I didn’t have a *career* it was a full time job and yet there was still with work nonsense to put up with.
Staying home, raising and homeschooling the kids was immensely satisfying.
People forget the old adage of *The hand that rocks the cradle, rules the world*.
I’m proud father of eight home schooled kids. My wife is the rock star. She could probably double our family income if she went into corporate America but is much more valuable staying home and fighting to raise godly kids. We just spent thanksgiving with my four siblings and their government raised children. The addictions, depression and anxiety among my nieces and nephews was heart breaking. But I didn’t say a word to my siblings. Years ago my sister told me my kids were going to be “so fu€king weird!’ when we argued about homeschooling vs public schools. Her kids can outdrink most of their peers. Mine are far from perfect but they are full of joy and know what is most important in life.
We can thank our feminist movement for that. Getting women to believe that being a stay at home mother/homemaker is beneath them and that they need to get out and compete against men for jobs. That was women’s equality in the beginning. Today mentally ill men thinking they are women are replacing real women and the feminist movement is embracing it. Like Rush used to say, feminism was never about women’s rights.
Yeah, I assumed Houston was the only Texas city the UK writer knew the name of. There’s a Lindale exit off I-20.
Two words, Crows Cage, maybe just one Stocks. Yes that might be fitting, put the POS in stocks and let them be kicked in the ass by outraged public.
I'm an apartment manager. We have cameras. My employer doesn't allow me to look at cameras unless I'm prompted (a tenant complaint for instance). Long story short, some things don't hold up in a court of law. But this obviously isn't the same as an apartment complex.
In this case, I agree with you except that going over footage for hours is very time-consuming. You literally have no idea how time-consuming it is.
All I can say is when you hire someone they should be observed for awhile to get their demeanor figured out. You are responsible for who you hire.
Obviously.
Death penalty
Smith county is the Tyler area.
And I'll bet your kids can outthink their peers.
I'd take *weird* over drunks and addicts any day.
If she kicked my kid, she would run to the police to escape me.
For a very brief window of time, my two youngest were in daycare (two months). There was a little boy who would light up like a Christmas tree whenever he saw my daughter. His mother moved him and my daughter hated going because her friend was no longer there.
My son was just 6 months old and there was one older lady who adored him. Everything I came to pick him up, he was asleep in her arms and she was rocking him in the rocking chair.
I pulled them out because I could see the behavior of the other kids. They were feral.
My husband changed his days off and I adjusted my office hours so that we would only need a private sitter every once in a while. Otherwise, they were with us.
Hah! God bless you and yours!
I worked in an upscale child care and we had cameras watching us all the time. I would never hurt a child, but knowing we had cameras on us we were all on our best behavior with the children. I loved working there.
The Czech Stop is in West and their kolaches rock my world. It’s quite a ways from Lindale.
Unless there’s another Czech Stop.
What are the cameras there for if they never look at the footage?

Gonna make some one(s) a lot of money
over the next few months after all the
legality is completed.
West TX has become the home of “old money” Czechs.
An equally large group of Czechs farmed along the Trinity River bottom near Ennis, and have pretty much kept to themselves.
I worked at a CPA firm for a family, and in a previous life worked building their schools.
The best were good Catholic families.
The worst was when the Catholic church sent a pedophile priest to head their mass, in the late 80’s.
I always call it Mexican polka, and now I know why.
