There's a southern migration happening in the U.S. right now, and it's not because of the weather.
The National Association of Realtors' 2024 Migration Trends report released this week shows Southern states dominated in attracting the most people to move within their borders last year, and only 1% of those who moved said they did so because of climate-related reasons, according to its analysis of U.S. Census Bureau data.

1. Florida – 372,870 net migration
2. Texas – 315,301 net migration
3. North Carolina – 126,712 net migration
4. South Carolina – 91,853 net migration
5. Georgia – 88,325 net migration
A bottom state, when it offers the best quality of living with the level of taxation, is going to rise to the top.
That goes for anything.
Pretty dumb considering the world is going to melt because of global warming!
(Sarcasm for those unable to parse it out).
I hope these people moving to the South understand that the Democrats will TAKE AWAY their air conditioning, should they get enough power in the government to do so.
If not, they deserve to toast down here.
Thenewbs will arrive acting like missionaries instead of refugees.
If you’re worried about the government taking away air conditioning the flip side is taking away heating oil and natural gas.
That means Puerto Rico and Hawaii will be the only year round comfortable places to live, and they’re too small to fit all of us.
“If you’re worried about the government taking away air conditioning the flip side is taking away heating oil and natural gas.”
Yep, I was thinking that too, but the difference is that healthy people must have heating (in most of the US), but can survive without AC, and the left prefers to get us in line by making us suffer (and thus be their slaves), rather than simply killing us outright.
I’ve been told and it could be BS is that wages are much lower. Apparently forestry workers make minimum wage.
If you’re a leftist, please don’t move to NC.
Leftugees welcome. Leftists - stay out. You’re not going to be welcome here, we don’t like you or want you here and we’re sure as hell not going to listen to any of your stupid ideas about politics or anything else.
Tennessee came in at No. 6 with a net migration of more than 76,000, followed by #7 Arizona (57,814), #8 Alabama (36,128) and #9 Oklahoma (31,967). Ohio rounded out the top 10 and was the only state north of the Mason-Dixon Line to land on it, after drawing in a net migration of 28,718.
I moved from California to Tennessee and brought my conservative ways with me. In fact, I am one of the more conservative people I know around here. I had worried that a “California conservative” would mean I was generally less conservative than most people I would meet in Tennessee. Not so. I fit right in and then some.
I am definitely a California ex-patriat refugee to the South.
Once upon a time, the American Indians were pushed onto reservations where they could live their traditional lifestyles. In similar manner, the blue regions are pushing conservatives today onto red reservations.
There are only 2 conservative reservations where conservative refugees from blue states can move and live with freedom.
One reservation is the mountain west — Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah.
The other reservation is the South/Deep South.
The Leftists have captured the rest of the nation.
If you want to add a 3rd red reservation in the mid-west, I wouldn’t argue the point, but I see that as a minor addition, not a main attraction. The 2 places conservatives can go and be free are either the mountain West or the South.
Please stop coming to Georgia. 😉
