Loved it! Many thanks.
Impressive.
Looks more like hundreds than several dozen.
Those poor creatures all drowning. And people cheering them on to their doom. Where’s the manatee?
The damn Marine Mammal Protection Act has allowed these to over populate, eating tons of salmon and pooping all over shell fish beds and docks Unintended consequences again
Even for the pathetic NBC affiliate in Santa Cruz/Monterey, this is beyond pathetic reporting. Avalanche? How about some one came and tossed some bait fish out in front of the herd of 300 plus sea lions just to get a reaction? Look at the video closely - they are waddling/running to get into the water. And people buy this crap?? Avalanche? Beyond pathetic.
I lived high above the Monterey Harbor in 1981 - 1982. There were tons and tons (I mean that literally) of seals and sea lions. Some nights I could not sleep for all the barking.
I can’t imagine what it sounds like today.
'Avalanche' of Sea Lions Falls Into Ocean Near Monterey Harbor
A group of sea lions is called a rookery when they are on land, and a raft when they are in the water.
I guess that when they are transitioning, they are referred to as an avalanche.
Regards,
I was stationed in Moss Landing between Monterey and Santa Cruz. One of the only places I would ever live in in Cali, if the price is right. I loved spending my free time at Monterey and had classes there. Every year the streets leading in to Cannery Row would be swarming with these things. What a stink. Fun to watch them. But not to smell them.
Like antifa burning a blue city...
Ya’ mean the “View” shows been cancelled?
observed something similar.
A herd of cattle were grazing peacefully on top of a hill. A cow started to walk down hill and suddenly the whole herd followed it and stampeded down to the creek. Some went into the creek other stood on the bank all as if they were wondering what went on.
I guess that is why we have the saying “herd behavior”
Looks like liberals leaving America!!
The title should read... Sea Lions slide down a little hill back into the water.
They need to pay people money for a Sea Lion Carcass. They blame the dams, they blame overfishing, and the environment for lower salmon runs. IT IS THE SEA LIONS...
