Seems the Times has the numbers wrong...he won 312-226, 58% of the vote.

“It’s not a mandate” will be the new shibboleth of the left to try and cripple the Trump administration. 5 million votes and a margin of over 90 electoral votes makes it a very definite mandate. The left is fond of pretending that there wasn’t much reaction nationwide reaction to the crimes of the biden mob. On the other hand, for the left, a margin of one popular vote and one electoral vote would be for them an overwhelming mandate. It’s good to know how the enemy of America thinks and operates.

Exactly. Lets have a looksee of all the votes then. Something tells me they don’t want that.

I seem to recall some now irrelevant political sage saying that “elections have consequences.”

Bless their pea picking hearts.

“We lost, but they only won by a few points. “

You lost.

“When Biden won in 2020 it was a mandate even though it was a few hundred thousand (provisional) votes that grabbed him the swing states.”

When Clinton won in 1992, with only 43%, the media declared it a mandate. Bold-face type on “Time” magazine cover. I think Trump was ~50%?

Didn't this nonsense come from Alex Soros, only for legacy media like NYT and Politico to parrot it?

Finally someone that understands the real score. The rules are Electoral College total, not popular vote. Would be like saying a football team should win because they had more passing yards.

Trump is still maintaining a 2.5 million vote lead according to nyt. That’s pretty significant for republican.

Don’t by the BS.

This was an election vs a powerful machine...not against a candidate.

The Dems had major media, universities, the legal system, the entire government apparatus, many many useful idiots, and probably the UN and several foreign countries working for them 24/7. The fact that trump competed let alone won is miracle.

Trump to broke them and they know it. And when Trump gets in office, he’s going to dismantle them.

No more open borders, no more CRT, DEI, cancel culture, getting trained on how to think like a liberal. No more pointing to our past instead of to our progress.

Back to debates about policy differences. Gone will be cries of racism and misogamy and homophobia when you even dare to to mention DEI is insulting etc...which were always words of an oppressor.... It’s done.

Hit the road Dems. No more government against the people. Government by the People is back.

It wasn't narrow.
312 vs 226 electoral votes is not narrow.
77 million vs 74 million popular votes is not narrow either.

Nothing new there.

Alternate headline if Harris had won with 277 electoral votes:

“Historic Victory for Harris, Repudiation of Trump and MAGA
Nation Rejoices”
